  • Very wonderful videos. I still don't understand why you're still a Protestant, even after watching these. But maybe that's for you to decide on.

  • @MontChevalier That is a story that is too lengthy to relate here.

  • @Mechanized0 Sounds like a very complicated tale. It's still your decision though. I'm no missionary, but if you tried studying the history of Christianity, maybe you might change your mind. Might end up an Orthodox Christian, maybe you'll end up a Catholic. Who knows.

  • @MontChevalier I am currently in studying Church history as time permits which is unfortunately quite limited at the present time.

  • @Mechanized0 Have you considered joining a Catholic forum?

  • @MontChevalier I have in the past. My primary interests lie in economics, history, and current political events. One forum I joined actually disallowed links to anti-war.com, the administrator/moderator insisting that their information is often "inaccurate" (which is quite false). This type of behavior displays a rather a obvious bias that limits their ability to accept little other than their own preconceived notions.

  • @Mechanized0 That's understandable. But what does that have to do with doctrine? Isn't this website more politically-based than religious?

  • @MontChevalier The point I attempted to make is that the type of mindset displayed above would obviously not be limited to secular subjects but would also seep into the religious arena, throwing doubt upon any declarative statements that might be made.

  • @Mechanized0 Ok. Examples?

  • @MontChevalier My statement was theoretically-based not fact-based. however, it has been my experience that a biased mindset is not limited to one particular thing.

  • @Mechanized0 Well, that's a given. But I believe in searching for facts first. It makes making decisions easier, don't you agree? It's true that many people choose to remain one-sided, but perhaps they feel insecure in their beliefs because they weren't taught better to be Catholics or Protestants or Orthodox. While you can't blame how some Catholics feel about certain topics, it's simply because there are some (Like abortion, for example) which can't be bent as "Ok".

  • Thanks so much for uploading this =]

  • Thanks I am a lover of history and I very much appreciate this :)

  • This videos are the best! Woods is great! How can exist people that admires Dawkins, Dennett, Hitchens, Harris? This is History, this is Science, this videos should be studied for all the atheist and protestants around the world

  • @Teltaminoru We admire them because they herald reason. History isn't necessarily science. It is an archive or a record of what happened in the past. What happened in the past doesn't necessarily have to be scientific.

And tell me what is wrong with admiring Harris, Hitchens and Dawkins?

  • Thx for sharing. Great series.

Glad to know that even our protestant brother recognizes and acknowledges the great contributions of the Catholic Church to western civilization. God bless you Mechanized0.

  • Thank you, thank you so much for posting this. It's such a shame than all these videos have less than 1000 view whilst Dawkins and Hitchens gets millions of hits along with those stupid so called "enlightened" intellectuals here on Youtube. People should watch this instead of that hateful bashing they call scholarship/.

  • An excellent series from a brilliant man. Very enlightening and even surprised me, a practising Catholic, with the treasure trove on knowledge it had to offer. The beauty, intelligence, majesty and magnificence of Catholicism in it's finest.

  • Thank you very much for posting this treasure!

It certainly deserves to be seen by all those who enjoy the luxury of thinking independently.

    The splendour of Truth!

I'm happy to have found it.

  • Considering the plethora of negative information, some of it either extreme exaggeration or outright invention, it seemed prudent to provide a series of videos dispelling a number of myths surrounding the Catholic Church.

Please keep in mind that I am Protestant and do not necessarily agree theologically in all respects with the Catholic Church. However, practicing intellectual dishonesty by bearing false witness is something we must strive to prevent among ourselves.

  • Couldn't agree more!

  • Great and brave to redeem ourselves from our ignorance and enlighten what our intelligence can build, therefore.
