Yes I have that lp. Before the MCA lp the 2 sides the band made were on a Decca lp with "enhanced for stereo." Those bad phony stereo lp versions were all I had until a friend made a tape of his original 78 for me. I always wanted to hear these great sides without that reverb added and I thought others would too.
@maxinDetroit YES!!!!!! I had that album back in the early 1970`s this was like the second track on the album with Milenberg Joys being the first. Back then I noticed if you turned the balance control to one or the other speaker, you could get the one channel without the reverb, the reverb was only on the other channel. These guys were great
It's years and years I try to buy the Vocalion record with no success... the cornet solo is attributed to the obscure Dick Fiege but no one knows the truth...
OMG!! I Have The Jimmie Noon Apix Club Version Of This Awsome Song! With Mildred Bailey Vocal. I Never Heard This Befor! Love It, Love It. 5 Stars, Thank You So Much For This Awsome Post.
Sorry, I was wrong. I think you're right. I remember some bass saxophonists from that era like Vince Giordano and Adrian Rollini (who also played goofus)

Vince Giordano is of our era, not the '20s, although he may wish otherwise!

The baritone sax is great

I think it's rather a bass saxophone often used in those days.
