10 years from now I believe Lucas will want to remake the original trilogy since he has already went great lengths to ruin them with the new special effects such as this, and then the horrible effect of Hayden over Sabastian Shaw in ROTJ, and let's not forget Boba Fett is now voiced by a new actor.

It just goes to show Lucas should have did the prequel trilogy first and then 4,5,6. Since ruining the series he's never been happy with the original trilogy since.

@ProductionsHead well actually you are wrong to say this. they are saying the one that matters is episode one, and yet i agree with them it really doesn't matter. they were both neutral, so no one is the bad guy or good guy. there are other versions, but they exist to make han look more like the good guy for not shooting first. him shooting first gives him a better character development. he goes from being scum to a hero. still though, we shouldn't care. all the versions have something good.

This should be common knowledge by now...

In the original version Han shoots first, Greedo never fired. Thtat's the original 1977 release.

When Lucas re-released the digitally altered version with all his fancy new graphics and whatnot, he changed the scene and made it so Greedo shot a split second before Han who "digitally dodges" the blast and fires back.

All in all, Han was supposed to have fired first. Lucas changed it. And geeks to this day will fight over it.

It's only a big deal to hardcore fans of the original trilogy. We all know that Han Solo is a complete BAMF, and shooting Greedo would be totally in character for him. The censorship applied to the film years after its release involved Greedo taking the first shot, Han dodging (in a very poorly edited fashion, might I add), and then killing Greedo. The idea here was to portray Han as a more "heroic" and "bold" character, rather than the scruffy nerf-herding scoundrel we all know and love.

Actually, this is the original scene unedited, the scene you're talking about when Greedo also shot, is the re-release of the movie (Special Edition) which added a Greedo shot and a Han's head movement
