I could be here forever! What about the sensational: "I'm Luke Skywalker. I'm here to rescue you!" If ever a line was to symbolise why the movies struck such a cord with the fans, surely it was this one because it epitomises the concept of the normal guy (callow farmer from nowhere/the humble child viewer in the theatre) becoming a hero & winning the beautiful princess. It could have been corny but it works by being comical via Luke's absolute sincerity & Leia's nonplussed, "You're *who*?"

Then what about, "He will join us or die"? I just love this line for J.E.Jones' voice. His opening line in this scene ("What is thy bidding, my master?") is another highlight of his voice because he manages to convey reverence without diminishing Vader in the process. This works to make the thoughtful viewer ponder upon what must be an awesome villain (in Palpatine) for the mighty DV to bow & speak to him in such tones.

@Carth501 I've read the Lucas novel as well. I've tried to emulate his writing style along with Shakspeare & John DeChancie(Star Rigger trilogy). I'm glad they left the duck referance out of the movies. What blows me away is that even tho' we can tell that Palaptine is(U KNOW WHO...:,), it was a generally well kept secret from general movie goers. But the real stunner is that his status as(U KNOW WHAT...:) is revealed in the first few pages of 'A New Hope'! Then again, most people didn't read it
