  • wish jackson was my dad

  • What river is that?

  • just copy of topo duo

  • I've paddled both, and nothing could be further from the truth. Have you paddled either? Go back to comments on things you know nothing about!

  • Great video!!!

Great music! Is EJ as obsessed with DMB as I am?

  • can i do heavy creeking???

  • I noticed that the DD has less leg room, the ankle saving bulkheads, a flat bottom, different size cockpits and less combined paddler weight allowance (I've paddled the Topo-Duo for several years with two 200+ pound 6'5"+ boaters), but IMO that's not all in favour of the DD compared to the Topo-Duo. So, since I'm looking at a possible replacement, for me the paddling characteristics probably are what makes me go for this boat or pick the revised Topo-Duo instead.

  • DD has unlimited leg room in back, and up to 34" inseam in front, which is a smaller amount than the back ,but more then TD. The bow rides high and the manueverability is great too in the DD. total package is sweet! you'll want to try it on the water!!!

  • Hmmm, I can fit in the front of the Topo-Duo, but I have a 36" inseam and size 13 feet. If the DD only has 34" in the front, how could that be more than the Topo-Duo?

Another question, does it have more rocker than the Topo-Duo? I've paddled the Nyami-Nyami a few times, and I liked the rocker of that boat a lot better than the relatively flat Topo-Duo. IMO more rocker also makes if less likely to pencil in coming from a waterfall. That's one thing I really dislike about the Topo-Duo.

  • Great questions and points as we were in the factory yesterday testing the sizing in real terms again based on your comments. there is no limit to the size of the back person, but the front person starts getting tight at 33" inseam, and 36 with a size 12 foot would be super tight. The good news is that since we put a smaller cockpit in the front and smaller seat, the smaller people fit much better. Definitely more rocker as we liked the Nyami Nyami's rocker better too.

  • Okay, sounds like I need to try it out! Unfortunately that won't be with my regular Topo-Duo buddy, since at 6'5" he's only slightly shorter than me and has the same inseam and only one size smaller feet (he has size 12). Any idea when the DD will be available in the Netherlands?

  • I'm glad to see that that after the demise of the Nyami Nyami, there is finally another contender for the Topo-Duo.

Being a long time Topo-Duo paddler, I'm wondering what the big differences in paddling characteristics are between it and the Dynamic Duo. Much of what EJ explained is also true for the Topo-Duo. Is there anyone from Jackson Kayaks who can compare the two side by side?

  • it would be great for you to test side by side!! that is the ultimate test! you'll find that comfort, outfitting, bow drier, maneuverability, rollability, boofability, and stiffness are all awesome in comparison.

  • Cool. I've been looking for video of somebody rolling this rascal and here it is. Thanks. 4Fun

  • Oh yeah! We can't wait to get ours. We've pre-ordered and are eager to carve some sweet turns and drop some boofs on the Potomac River.

Imagine surfing O-Deck or running Grace Under Pressure with a good friend. Sounds like FUN!!!

    Thanks for the video, Nick.

    Best,

    Danny
