Thanks, guys. My mate did the majority of the rotoscoping, but it only took a couple of days from start to finish. Once I've managed to get hold of another camera, I plan to do more like this. Unfortunately, my camera broke days after my mate's, so it's all been put on the backburner for now.

dude holy crap that was pretty cool. and do you guys know how to put explosions in videos using wax 2.0? i know you have to convert the explosions from .MOV to .AVI but i do that and when i put it in the editor it comes up blank. if you have any suggestions please help

getting the blasters precise is not difficult because you use keyframes. What I do is i use after effects "beam" effect. You set the start position of the baster bolt and the end position where you want it, and after effects fills in all the frames inbetween so the bolt goes from the start point to the end point WHEN you want it to
