I enjoyed your song? could you have done a different version of this song using the dr 880 in "pattern" mode as opposed to "song" mode maybe (or something like that, I don't own one) also can you mute parts individually. Your song is nice but if the 880 doesn't lend itself to "improvising" like a groove box maybe, then maybe I'm looking at the wrong place...thanks for the post, keep at it!

Have you tried footswitches on your dr 880 ? In the manual it does not show whether one can play fills in different ways with them. I use a DR 770 and fills with fooot switces are to limitied.

Thanks! Yep, I'm the author. I do use a footswitch on the DR-880, but only to start the song. Unfortunately you can't do fills with 880 at all. You just have to play the whole song exactly like it's programmed.

I was afraid of that. I have tried Alesis SR16 (or something like that) the only thing I liked was their footswitch solution for fills. Does anybody know which good drummaschines are good for live playing with good control over fills ?
