He wakes up in a robotic prison as Eggman's base and as he goes, he begins to wonder what life really is. When he frees Amy and is protected from destruction in his battle with Sonic, he begins to have human emotions and sets off to saves the other E-bots, leading up to his fight with Beta. They both free each other and fly off together but Gamma reawakens and is confined to his future, a robot to serve Eggman.

Not likely since Eggman probably didn't let something like that happen, since they were just cheap soldiers to him. (I'm also probably over thinking it but oh well haha)

I cried more for Gamma than any other character i know.

He was just willing to follow such an crazy man's orders, when he met Amy.

Gamma couldn't understand the feelings of a coherent mind because all he did was to follow orders.

He killed his own partners, with the reason of it being for their own good.

It was just an order he gave himself. Take his assumed brothers' life so they could be happy.

When he died, he was truly happy, since he could rescue all his brothers.

Heres a fun fact in Sonic Adventure E102 was supposed to shoot himself in his head and fall but Sega thought this wouldnt be family appropiate also he was gonna be the power charcter for Team Dark but sega didnt think of a way of reviving him but dont worry Sega didnt forget his picture appears in Sonic generations 3ds as a fav charcter

E-123 Omega is the only remiscence of Gamma's memory unit. Meaning he still have some hatred from the Doctor, rebooting his main missions. It sucks though they have to change Omega voice chip like Cubot.

i remember playing gamma's story when i was a kid on dreamcast and i didn't really understand his character but when i played SA on ps3 and understanding the story more. it made me feel sad for his character. the fact a robot had feelings and sought his own path to save his brothers from Eggman's control in which himself being destroyed in the process. never in my life i felt sadness for a robot. i tear up a bit every time i see his ending. 3:20 is so powerful for some reason. BEST GAME EVER!

Why does every one say he died? he self destructed so that he could be with his friends in standard flicky form. Because he is the only character so far to retain his mind while being robotized, I would not mind seeing him return as a playable character if only because he has to get back his robot form to protect his flicky friends.

E-123 Ω Was really interesting at least he had feelings and had more life than most of the robots E - 102 just followed Eggman and later Amy While Ω had feelings beyond his "Masters".

@TehComentar Gamma was the first robot to ever disobey Eggman's orders, long before Metal and Omega. He did have feelings. You have to look at it through the bird's perspective, not the robot's. Why would a robot want to free his brothers by destroying them? No, it's the bird that wants to do that, the bird that was "set free" by an Amy Rose and her willingness to defend him when he was going to be destroyed by her "boyfriend" and his kitsune sidekick.

@TehComentar Well, with the voice synthesizing technology at the time and Sega's one-tracked view on what a robot should sound like until Omega appeared (and even after he appeared, he didn't get much vocal variety until the 4Kids voice cast showed up (thanks Maddie)), Gamma's monotonous voice certainly doesn't give the feeling of life, but what can ya do? *shrugs* If anything, you could compare Gamma's voice to Mr. Freeze's from Batman The Animated Series: Lifeless and cold.

@TehComentar Yes, his gameplay wasn't the best, and it would evolve into the loved/hated mech stages of SA2, but that doesn't mean his story was bad. He may not have had the vocal variety that Omega has, but he has just about as much if not more passion than Omega.

Omega is cool too, but you can only go so far with his hatred of Eggman, which is perfectly understandable. He is funny sometimes, but not on purpose or in canon(like his "love" for Blaze in the Archie comics).
