Fortress X was an early Diaclone item that was more related in style to the Microman line. A bit later came the Car Robo part of the Diaclone line that inspired the whole Transformers craze.
my god what LUCKY fucking kid had this when they were 10 years old??? I would have given my eye teeth, my dog, my bike, and all my other toys for this thing when I was little!!
Man, this figure should have became a Transformer for the line. By the way, in Japan when Transformers were released there, were kids dissapointed that most were just repainted Diaclone? Did Takara think they could pull that?
@MaxRebo120 what are you talking about?! The Diaclone line was way cool, and it was the forerunner of TFs, in fact all the best American TFs WERE the Diaclone reissues like Walther PK, Soundwave & boombox, all the coolest die cast cars, etc.All my fave TFs were (as I later found out) Diaclones, except for the Veritech they ripped off from their Robotech line. LOL. And that giant PR pyramid thing is huge but there's like NOTHING to it, just big empty clunky plastic thing, it hardly does anything
@MaxRebo120 not sure which one you mean by "this figure." The one in the video, or one of the many I was talking about? I never said Forress X wasn't cool, I said that what made TF cool was the fact they were Diaclones. You said "were kids disappointed that TF was just repainted Diaclone," I would think not..the repaints were great & Diaclone was 70s while TF was 80s, totally different generation of kids. No kids were disappointed.
@MaxRebo120 Actually Takara pulled it off, they set an example for Bandai. They discontinued their Machine Robo line for a year and came back with a whole new different back story and cartoon and reissued the old figures, they did this when they realised what a success it had been with Transformers.

martinopangefino 8 months ago
@martinopangefino Yes because Japan doesn't have "L" in it's language. R is always substituted.
