This was a brilliant song and deserved a lot better than the chart placing it got. Much better than the previous single The Groover. A real rocking follow on from the excellent 20th Century Boy.
Thank you very much for uploading this song. I bought a CD of "T. REX Greatest hits" while I was in the UK. I was upset by finding the fact that the CD did not have this tune.
It may not be Marc's best but you've got to love lyrics like "With my silver studded Fender, I'm a child brain bender"! Only TV promotional appearance was a tea time slot on Lift Off With Ayshea on ITV with Mickey Finn on drums as Bill Legend had just left the band. The B-side (as ever) was another quality song "Sitting Here". Great photos. Thanks for posting.
its not get it on, but not the worst either[ zip gun boogie?] But he was deffinately on the slide by this point. the production was pretty ropey-like the bottom fell out of the t.rex sound.
@thepinktent If you look into Marc's life, you can draw a line as to when he separated himself from June Childs, his wife, and beganhis dalliances with Gloria Jones. If you drew a graph, it would be clear. Even later, when he stopped recording with Gloria, Soul of my Suit, Marc was on the way back up. It is tragic really.
@DAVWAVE I'm not a mad fan of the less successful stuff he put out after 74-but surely this isn't just because he took up with Gloria Jones???? Isn't it the downside of being a teeny bop star? Kids always move on-from the Monkees to the Bay City Rollers to Adam Ant to Bros-all of them mega for a year or two, then pops dumper beckons. Marc himself, replaced by Donny Osmond & David Cassidy...
As a matter of fact, Marc promoted this single on Granada Tv's 'Lift Off With Ayshea'...but as I have yet to find the clip , it must be an absolute tv rarity or has been accidentally erased thru the corridors of time.... if anyone has it in stock feel free to upload it!!!! reagrds
@imalovedrunk I actually quite like London Boys, though I prefer the more raw distorted version on the Alternate Futuristic Dragon CD. The song is also featured in the hit musical "20th Century Boy" in Ipswich England this year.

Don`t recall T.Rex over promoting this.
Still a really cool Boaln line:
`People put you down coz yer to low on the ground
they can`t hurt thou, coz yer cosmic.`
Love that.......
