They operate on the most minor things here, because the people with insurance will pay for it. I was shocked when I found out that the USA, the "leader of the free world", doesn't have universal health care. That's seriously 3rd world guys.
You have good quality health care in terms of technology, expertise, etc- but you pay so much for it and a lot of people don't even have decent access to it. Why is it that so many other countries have great health care systems that everyone is provided for?

Health care is not so black and white, of course we want everyone to have it but who's going o pay for it? If your a small country with a very little population like sweden or holland the cost of health care is affordable since there's less people to cover. Nothing is for free in America, if you want something or a certain quality of life you need to work for it.

Our country has demanded things for years and really couldn't afford it. I want to see us start being more responsible, if we can't have it now, it's going to have to wait. @wlwak I am a Brit living in USA and I wish I had the UK Health system here. The health system here stinks. I have had so many operations that were not really necessary. They operate on the most minor things here, because the people with insurance will pay for it. If you really need an operation to save your life and you have no insurance, you are in deep sh.., because you could lose your house and everything you own to pay for it. Unless you are rich like Glen Beck you are screwed.

I would say that Jon Stewart is a news commentator/analyst who masquerades as a comedian so he can conveniently hide behind that label whenever he's called out to account for what he says.
I'm watching Stewart right now. He had me laughing out loud earlier even though I knew that much of his comedy was fallacious.

Jon Stewart is similar, but at least he is honest about it and is on a comedy channel...and ironically his segments contain more truth and journalistic context than anyone in an actual news channel.

Apparently the White House thought that was evidence, since they forced him to resign amid the controversy.
My guess is that you don't watch Glenn Beck's show. You probably only get info on him through the filter of Jon Stewart and others.

He said the misinformation in Al Gore's global warming campaign was similar to the misinformation in Hitler's propaganda. Since you mentioned Al Gore and Nazis: Did you know that he compared world leaders who don't act on global warming to world leaders who appeased Hitler? Funny, Jon Stewart never mentioned that.

When he said Obama is racist, he actually used racist quotes from Obama to back up his claim.
When he said that members's of Obama's administrations supported crazy radical views like giving trial rights to animals, or that the constitutions allows for forcing women to have abortions, he backed those claims up with actual quotes.
Beck uses facts all the time.

@phillip84109 The "Obama is a racist" comment was based on what Obama said about the Cambridge, MA police controversy when a black professor was detained outside his own house. What Obama said was wrong, but it wasn't racist. It was based on looking through things based on a perfectly valid prism of past experiences by minorities of racial profiling. So that makes Obama someone who looks at race relations differently from Glenn Beck. A racist is someone who calls you inferior. Big difference.

@ShaithMaster Anita Dunn was not taken out of context. Beck showed a lot of her talk and while she did point out the irony that two of her favorite philosophers were Mao and Mother Teresa, she made very clear that she admired the words of Chairman Mao.
So, Beck was 100% right on Anita Dunn, but only 80% right about Van Jones. He got his jail time wrong, but he got the fact that Jones is a radical communist right.
But you are right, Beck should have double checked his facts on the jail time.
