He may have foretold things that we don't have access to because he was an oral teacher and was around before writing was invented, which would have made him a prophet in the term that you're speaking of. But he had direct access to God. It's very likely that he prophesied something. Have a little faith. If God says he was a prophet, then he was.

Adam's revelations served their purpose for their time. Today we have the Qur'an, which is all that really matters.

1) I'm not sure if these people are ex-Muslims, because the demonstrate a lack of knowledge on the religion by almost purposefully misrepresenting some of the facts.
2) Ishmael is not the first Muslim. Adam is the first Muslim. Everyone that is born is born a Muslim until they reject Allah's message. Jesus was a Muslim, but his message was distorted by the Church and the Christians, thereby making the Christians misguided.

He may have foretold things that we don't have access to because he was an oral teacher and was around before writing was invented, which would have made him a prophet in the term that you're speaking of. But he had direct access to God. It's very likely that he prophesied something. Have a little faith. If God says he was a prophet, then he was.

You would have to believe him to be a prophet as well unless you don't believe he existed. Adam's prophesies would have been an oral tradition, which... by definition aren't written down. So we don't know what they were or who they would be to. My assumption would be that it was to his children. It may be simply, "God exists" with extra details.

Many of them, such as Adam, were oral teachers, and we don't even know what they said, but know that what they said has affected us through the ages. So, not forgotten, but no longer needed. Adam's revelations served their purpose for their time. Today we have the Qur'an, which is all that really matters.
As for early Muslim writings, try Genesis.

These 2 guys make sense to me. Islam has a HISTORY of bloodshed and conquest which continues today. Most terrorism against the West comes from Islam - flying planes into buildings, suicide bombers, chopping off peoples heads, shooting up rooms full of soldiers...etc. Where's all the peace???
