@cheersvideography Thank you for your comment, I just like to clarify that i make everything myself (apart from the evolutions and twitch effect) the menu took me a while to get right, its crazy watching it back as I made it ages ago now, I don't et to use encore much now :-(

Wicked! I just myself made my very first DVD with encore, glad to see there are so many more possibilities. I used a lot of photoshop, but from my understanding i should try and play with After Effects also! I wonder, the only thing I dont get.. how did you make those swirly brushes slide oude like that? What program? thanks

The swirls are a preset from Andrew Kramer Evolutions- You should totally buy it, u can get it on his website which is called Copilot.

Encore is such a great program and so compatible with photoshop as well!

loved the vid... waiting for a tutorial.... i created an intro video that ends in a menu but between the end of the video and the menu screen i get a 2 second black pause which kills the "effect" can you help? i am working with premiere and encore...

Hiya,

When you are in Encore, U need to make sure the videos you have as your menu and as ur transitions do not have any black at the start of the clips. you also have to alter your transition time in encore.

Hi, thank you for your post. if i play my dvd on dvd player the quality is very bad on movies menu and slide show. i can see every 3 seconds horizontal lines.. i made a dvd using dvd maker and there was everything perfect. please help me. im using encore cs4

Hiya, sorry about the super late reply !

Hiya the horizontal lines is because your video is interlaced, You will need to deinterlace your video. Also what export settings did you use. H.264 is usually a sure winner !

I used After Effects for all my shots, as the menu was quite animated I spent a lot of time in after effects. I used Encore to put everything together such as menus, buttons links all that stuff. Plan as much as u can b4 u make a menu. I did a storyboard, this really helped.

If ur gonna make a menu like mine, u will some sort of a plan to follow for it to work, this menu took me 4 hours in total to make from scratch.

Yea, I wanted to do a tutorial but I don't have encore at the mo.The trick is to storyboard or plan as much as possible b4 u even start.

I had a menu for each section like scene selection, extras, ect, and each button had a end reaction.

All my video files were created and compressed in AE. So in the end I had 4 main motion menus, about 9 transitions for each menu depending on what button was pressed.

I first made a storyboard to know what transition would happen when a button was pressed. I made all clips in after effects and then imported them into encore they were put together using the storyboard. I also used a code which is done in photoshop to have more control over the buttons.

The best way is to try and plan everything as much as possible, and also keep checking your hierarchy in encore for broken links and problems, I had loads of problems with that.
