  • @borderraven ...thanks, yes ; )

  • Oh, man, I love those hatchets. They look wonderful. I want to forge some old school hatchets like that. I have some "Pignut Hickory" which is the toughest subspecies of Hickory and want to use that for the handles.

  • @SugarcreekForge Very cool, ...to be able to make a beauty like this yourself, would be perfect. ...please make a shout when you make a video from it! All the best, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk I will do that for sure. Thanks!

  • I am reminded of the old rhyme "If you love something, set it free if it comes back, it was meant to be. If it continues to fly, let it soar, have faith that God has something better in store."

    That really is your axe.

    It shows .

  • @555Nato ...yes indeed, ...and a piece of soul ; )) Thanks for watching!

  • @Waldhandwerk ,I love soul in 'things'.I also believe that houses can have souls. Those are the ones here many people have lived in the passed.

They have more atmosphere.Which is nice.

  • how old is the axe? they are both very nice, would love to have one

  • @cekinxxx Hi, i bought and lost it in 2010, after 6 month. ...the long time in the wood makes the old style ; ) Thanks and all the best, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk hahaha, very old axe

  • Very nice and lucky to find your old axe. is that the small forest, or hunters axe? Have you tested the Vintage one? I'm curious if the wood is still full structural integrity.

I just bought a wetterlings and have Axe Envy now.! lol..

  • @knivesandstuff Hello Kyley, yes indeed ...so much luck. It´s the GB Wildmarksbeil, 34 cm, 0,7 kg called in german, I have used it a few times meanwhile, but just to make firewood, ...it works like a new one (with soul ; ) ...thanks for watching and commenting my video! Have a great Day, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk Very Good.. I am very interested in doing some video series showing an Axe used as a multipurpose tool for food prep, (hunting and skinning I cannot do 'vegetarian') and all round uses as a quality hatchet was done in the old days. If you have inclination to do some videos like this I'd love to see them ! :)

    Thanks Sepp

  • lucky find

  • @PHARRAOH ...yesss ; ) thanks and see you, Sepp

  • Great looking bag that you got for a present! Awesome that you got your hatchet back! Good job on the clean up! Something don't have to look pretty, to be a great and usefull tool! The aged look just gives it character, and maybe a little more sentimental value, concidering all that it has been through! They say if you love something, set it free, and if it comes back, then it was meant to be. Your little hatchet was meant for you, a great tool, for a great person! Be safe, & God Bless..

  • @jjaayypp963 Hi Jay P. my good friend, thank you very much. Yes, a beautiful gift, and from you a very good proverb ; ) I like! Thanks for watching and commenting! Blessings Sepp

  • Hi Sepp,

Quality never goes out of style :)

    LG

  • My friend you are very lucky to have found your tool in one piece. :) try a double coat of cherry wood stain and finishing coat on the handle and a steel wool accessory on your drill. Best of luck.

  • @MegaSurvivalman Hello my friend, thanks a lot, ...also for your interesting tip. I´ll try it now in this form, because as long as the stuff work it´s good enough for me, ...but you´re right, it´s always possible to make things a little better ; ) So thanks again and have a great Day, Sepp

  • Looks like you've got double trouble on your hands Sepp. Great job on the refinishing of the "vintage" axe. Your right now you have put your own stamp on that one.

    Nate

  • @CdnLifeguard71 Hi Nate, my good friend, thank you so much. Haha, yes, stamp, character and soul, ...everything a good axe need : ) All the best, Sepp

  • Hi Sepp, Very nice video. Your vintage ax looks really cool now. Maybe you should leave the new one out in the woods for a while so that you can have a matching set.

    : )

  • @saradreaming Hello Sara, my dear friend, thank you, cool that you like the look. ...I leave to often something in the woods....; ( ...and Survivalmike is not always by my side ; ) but funny idea, haha. Have a great Day, Sepp

  • @Ggreenvideos Hi Rich, Buddy, thanks, yes it´s so cool to have it back ; ) ...in the forums they say it´s the same holding company...!? How ever, both are great Bushcraft tools ; ) Have a good Day, Sepp

  • @Waldhandwerk Hey buddy, you should paint the end of the handle orange...hehe ;o) My father did that for many years :o)

  • @Ggreenvideos Hey Rich, cool idea ; ) ...that´s why Mike use orange paracord for his lanyards! ...I fear my soul is too black for this, haha. Happy Day, Sepp

  • That 'Vintage' look is really nice Sepp.

Its a great Axe and someday I will own one myself. Its on my list of things to buy when I start working fulltime again.

The axe was made by MM....who made the new one that you have?

  • @RDPproject Hi Rob my good friend, thank you very much, when you like it, it must be alright ; ) Good question with MM, all axes we know are from MM, Mike, Chris, ...always MM, he must be the most industrious staff at GB ; ))) Hope you get your Axe soon, it´s much fun to work with. All the best, Sepp

  • Gern geschehen mein Freund :-)

Have fun with it and get used to it!

All the best from the rainy Salzburg

    Mike

  • Your axe has a really nice "old" patina now I like it!

Also the leather pouch is very nice to collect things in. I'm keeping all the leather I can find (even from old shoes or boots) to make things myself.

    Groetjes

    Patje
