WARNING:get away from owls especially those barn ones, they are the witches pet,but if you see one on the tip of a tree, they give bad luck and they laugh and look like humans! This message brought to you by Owl Society Care.
@nickatina40 You should probably not get one as they really should be in the wild. But, if you are really interested, you could contact a local bird keeper or zoo and such and ask them about getting involved with bird rehabilitation.
awesome! I love how you let her fly off with the big piece, as she seemed ready to do. Sometimes they wanna run and have their time with the prize. Keep up the good work! :)
I challenged an Owl to a staring contest once.I failed, the owl didnt blink for about ten minutes.Another reason why i failed was that i felt the owl had me phcologicaly worked out and i felt intimidated by its superior inteligence,i made a quick get away fearing it would resort to mind control tactics.
YOU'RE an idiot! Owls can memorize more motions and words of the human languge in 2 months than a human can in 2 years!! There not dumb! I'll stand and defend them for years!
One cold rainy night I heard this raspy screeching sound outside the cabin I was staying in. The sound seemed to be coming from the crown of a tree next to the window and I assertained that it was an owl of some kind.
I sounded just like this barn owl and kept calling for some time, probably irritated and hungry for not being able to hunt in the rain.
Barn owls live all over the world. They don't exist natively in only Australia and Antarctica, but are very common on every other continent.
Most owls don't actually hoot as most people think. Some of the more popular owls make a hooting noise but most owls produce various sounds from owl to owl. Barn owls are often said to be the reason for owls affiliation with Halloween because when they screech it sounds like a human scream. Which is kind of odd because screech owls make more of a yodeling noise.
Yes but not always. Like many owls, great horned owls produce varying sounds. They most commonly hoot but but can also screech and create varying noises based on their mood. They will often times make a shrill chattering noise almost squirrel like when annoyed. They've also been known to hiss.
it's unfortunate the man descibes these birds as "rare" as a matter of fact the are extremely common in most parts of the world. the only places they are at risk of extinction are England and the midwetern untied states.
I love that screeching hiss they make. Barn Owls are common throughout the world actually. One used to sit in a tree outside my window and screech at night when it rained. Since they don't have oil on the wings like the guy said, I guess he was mad because he could'nt fly in the rain.
I remember during a rainstorm one night I heard that raspy screeching sound outside my window. I looked up in the tree and there was a big white owl. Barn owls are cool. They seem different than other owls, more ghostly. They don't just live in England but all over the world.
i luv barn owls, but contrary to the video. they are found on every continent excluding antarctica. go TYTO ALBA. the feathers have no oil and no BARBULES!!!!
Do you raise the mice, or buy them? In the US, rahabbers seem most often to buy white mice, which can be a problem for juveniles that are to be released and which might expect wild mice to be white. Here, you have a non-releasable, and you're feeding it a dark mouse.

Yeah. Swear it's the same with practically all birds. Surely that's not true.

@applecider98 They all do the oil on your fingers destroy the natural protective coat on their feathers which protects them from the rain
