Incredible the damage. How many of these homes will not have insurance coverage due to no flood insurance? Curious, do they offer flood insurance when you get your homeowners? Does FEMA help with things or are they a low % loan?

@yarrowpower Unfortunately this neighborhood was not considered in the 100 year flood plan so not many were offered flood insurance when they purchased their homes. I have lived here for 10 years and we were told we didn't need it since we weren't in the flood plain. This was considered a 1000 year flood. FEMA did help countless folks here. You are right though it was a sad situation. Me and my wife actually saw a wall of water a foot and a half deep coming down the street and ran from it.
