One tradition in Bollywood is to have the main characters go to a place where there is a female singing and dancing around scantally. For Ashanti to be this character is a great privalage and honour. She not only had to learn part of their language, but also some of how they traditionally dance, plus while there shooting, she was exposed to many of their daily life aspects.

other than the fact that Jane Austen was a Brit rather than an American i agree with that. the entire thing screams "look at how westernized everything is' lol thats if westernized is a word. part of it is that people get so used to how things are in the own countries and in their movies that they don't recognize for example American influence in a movie because they are so used to it that they believe such things to be universal.
