This trailer depicted the show very well.....don't see what the bitching is all about. Show isn't as smart as you think it is, just a very general basic comedy. Only reason to watch this show was for kaley cuoco, but she was only hot in the first season :( Now, if you want clever script writing for a comedy, you watch "How I met your mother". Big Bang doesn't hold a candle to that show.

@d3pendenta All adverts make it look like a cheap comedy show. It's based on the mockery of socially awkward intelligent people. Though I can understand why people may like it, the adverts do make it look as how you described.
This is quite a bad insulting promo, but the actual show is really quite good. Except for the fact that a lot of what they talk about seems basic to me compared to a real person in their field (this coming from a person without even a masters), but I guess since it has to appeal to the masses it has to be this way. It still kills much less brain cells than most of what is on tv which gives it a huge plus if you are going to watch something.

@GaolisVideoLog Unfortunately, yes. At my high school they taught the bare minimum they were required to teach. If you wanted to be in any way prepared to major in Engineering or the like you had to take extra classes at the local community college, so a lot of students ended up with a sub-par education. I have to explain some of the jokes to a friend of mine who's majoring in photography.

@GaolisVideoLog Unfortunately, yes. At my high school they taught the bare minimum they were required to teach. If you wanted to be in any way prepared to major in Engineering or the like you had to take extra classes at the local community college, so a lot of students ended up with a sub-par education. I have to explain some of the jokes to a friend of mine who's majoring in photography.

@cloy93 True. But your proposal reminds me of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. In wider terms, the hypothesis suggests that one can only perceive what one knows. The flaw here is that imagination, and therefore innovation, would be an impossibility if the proposal were true. In your case, if we put ourselves back a few hundred years: We would have to reject the possibility of cars, x-rays, electricity, magnets etc., simply because we lack evidence. Here also: One gets stuck & innovation is unlikely.
