I can tell you that excessive force isn't the answer. patience. if you can earn the horse's respect then he/she won't try to kick you. if you're stupid and step behind said horse, i'm sorry you deserve to get kicked since anyone who's ridden a horse should know better than to stand in the path of the back hooves.

I love your techniques. I have a Paso/Arab/Quarter mare that I had left alone for a while and now she totally doesnt trust me. I dont have a round pen but I can get her to follow me every with treats. But I want to do more with her. My next step is to just put her halter on, and then just take it off and give her more treats, but I want her to think she cant live without me ya know? What else should I do? I would really value your opinion!

So nice to see a cowboy kina guy that uses gentle methods instead of force. You sir are my hero. These videos will really help me with dealing with a wild Morgan from california that im in love with. (he was roaming around in the mountains of cali with his mom until he was 5, owner just turned him loose on his property i think...so he's pretty wild) I love him to death though
