OK I'm not ashamed to admit I developed the biggest crush on Adam Arkin after seeing this movie-all my friends were drooling over Josh Hartnett, but he was way too pretty for my taste, lol. He was great in this-very funny too.
But they lead the way to absolute bullshit. While good films, I think it is better to regard them not as sequels, but only re imaginings of the scenario.
@LivingDeadVideos Well Parts 4-6 all follow Parts 1 and 2 continuity-wise so I don't think that would work. As for leading the way to absolute b.s. are you talking about Thorn? I think it was an interesting storyline the series needed because it would have gotten boring with Michael just killing people in every movie. Plus, we were going to need to find about Michael sooner or later especially after the way Part 5 ended. Part 6 took rather a genetic/cloning turn to things but it was still good.
@harriettewinslow They followed Micheal's character closely, but John Carpenter doesn't like anything past Halloween 3.
Myers was never meant to be long lived for a series, he was supposed to be hard to write and this forces him to be very intelligent as a slasher. This concept of mystery, this concept that there is no motive for the killer is the reason the character was created. John thought of it as being truly horrifying for a man of no backstory or evil intentions to be evil itself.
@LivingDeadVideos Yeah, I'm aware of Halloween II originally being the last one to feature Michael Myers. But ever since he was brought him back in Part 4 after people dislike Part 4 I guess Moustapha Akkad felt introducing new elements into the series would keep it going strong rather than recycle the same element of the first movie. Everything really began with Part 2 with Samhain and the sister angle which then turned to a bloodline angle in Part 4. Parts 4-6 just build off from that.
Moustapha wasted a lot of talent which could of been put to better use in a new series entirely though. Halloween should have simply ended at 2, and stayed independent as a saga.
@LivingDeadVideos It would be sad if Halloween movies end :( I love seeing Halloween movies being made every year or 2 years till I die. I fell in love with Halloween movies since i was 8 (I'm 22 now)
it suckes that deleted the scene where jimmy's with a ski stabbed to his skull and the other kid in the back. it was tight with michael opening the rest room door and driving by his nephew in the city. the counselor story was gay, unecessary
I think the Halloween sequels are good for the most part, the only ones I didn't like were Halloween 3 (I didn't hate it, it's just not my kind of film) Halloween 6 theatrical cut, Halloween H20, and Halloween Resurrection. And I like Scream 1 and 2 but Scream 3 sucked.
Sad, sad garbage. All these inferior sequels do is mar the magic of the original. Anyone who thinks that the sequels are even remotely as good as the original are also the ones who think the Scream movies are awesome. Pathetic.
Scream was a critical hit actually -- not to mention one of the most financially successful slashers ever (cleared nearly 200 million ww). Somebody liked it. I didn't -- but somebody did.
Dude. I love Michael Myers and was wondering if you could send me HalloweeN 7 TV Scenes and HalloweeN 7 TV Scenes part 2. Can you. I'll give you my e-mail address in a message.

What is so great about this film is that it considered the first two films to be the only ones canon, and suddenly the series was watchable again.
Then Halloween Resurrection came out....
Fuck...
LivingDeadVideos 2 years ago
@LivingDeadVideos I found Halloweens 3-6 to be very watchable, especially Halloween 4. That was a very good sequel.

I wonder if there will ever be an extended cut of H20?

The scene with Laurie's boyfriend should have been kept. It explains why Laurie opened up so easily to him later on.

If you look and pause and back up a little where the 2 are carrying the food in it looks like Michael is in that scene but can't really tell
