I'm pretty sure they didn't slightly alter the theme every season, although I know during those 12 years they did a couple times. But this version I think is my favorite. The 2000-2001 NBA season was a great one.

If NBC ever gets its head out its a** and dumps Notre Dame football in favor of NBA games, they should form the NBC logo using lasers and place that logo into the 2001 sequence. That would be perfect.

If the NBA went back to NBC, the NBA would be GREAT again. Just look how NBC hypes up NFL games on Sunday nights, ABC just plain sucks, the picture quality on that channel is not even good.

I'll take this shorter version of the song and intro to just about whatever nba on nbc throws out at ya. I will say that nba on abc finals intros the past couple years having been pretty good and got a little hyped. But ABC is just so inconnect with their broadcasters, music intros and everything. how many years did it take abc to finally get a regular pre-game.

I loved the NBA on NBC. I especially loved the one where it had the NBA players and reflect on past times and everything. It gives the game hype. I tell ya it ain't the same on ABC at all.

I'm from New England and a Celtics fan and I still thought last season was lame, especially the Finals. I enjoyed watching Celtics games on the local station more than ABC or ESPN this year. TNT is the best option right now but it still has a really casual, boring feel to it.

I gotta say, ESPN has kinda upped their quality for the Eastern Conference Finals. NBC wasn't much better than ESPN was in this last series. They're closing the gap...slowly...very slowly.

I was born in '87, and even thought I was never the biggest fan of Basketball (outside of Jordan, who is a distant cousin), I can honestly tell you that I fuckin' miss this music.

It's up there with NFL on Fox and (in some regards) the NFL on CBS theme. I love it.

Although, I have to say, if you were born after 1995 you probably don't remember anything from the NBA on NBC, as it was discontinued in 2002.
