One thing that bothers me is that it doesnt have a "DVD port" or whats it called.

At my school I will be given a lot of software on CD's and therefore i will need to put a CD/DVD in the laptop.

Are DVD's and CD's on its way out?

I'm not really sold on this form factor...it really doesn't serve much of a purpose...I have an iPhone which is great for on the go surfing, email whatever...but I got a 10" netbook for something that I can actually work on when not at home...working on documents etc....its perfect just small enough to throw into a bag and go...it even fits in the glovebox of the car, when I'm home, I work on my desktop which is powerful enough to do anything, but this laptop isn't powerful enough to replace it.

I would not want to give up my opt bay tho. That is the problem with all this thin crap you loose the opt bay. Yes most people use some form of solid state now and or pull off a server. But say you just got a new cd can you play it nope you have to first go to a desktop and upload all the files to blank format and then move to the thin device using network, flash drive, so on so on.

yay it runs vista, i love vista. use it as my primary os to do so many things. i.e games, video/photo edit, and a whole lot more heavy things.
