  • I don't think a day goes by that I don't watch a John Denver video. His music makes you reflect upon your own life. What a gift he had and a legacy he left.

  • john truly the greatest,,,from the uk .just listen to him a angel sent to us,,,,love you john ,my boys love your music.

  • I should think many times to you are ussual, thank John you always in my mind.

  • TO THIS DAY DATE HE IS THE BEST ARTIST I WAS ABLE TO SEE! THIS IS FROM A "DIE HARD OLE ROCKER! WHAT A MAN !! WHAT AN ARTIST WHAT AN EXAMPLE, HE LIVED TRUE TO WHAT HE SPOKE PEACE, LOVE, SIMPLE HAPPINESS OF NATURE AND LIFE!

  • john is the best no one can take that away,he sang from his heart god bless you john we all love you.

  • Poor John, his voice was shot here. Plus he was being filmed. He did a good job covering it up though as if he was fine

  • @MrASPENDENVER today's technology has no respect, does it? and the real problem is that you can still hear them (the singers) when they were at their very best. It's sometimes painful to hear them today.

  • Great music. Just Great.

  • He loved Annie til the very last breath,I believe with every fiber of my being. She was even still in his will. She and their 2 adopted children received the same amount as his natural child. He was a class act all the way,and I miss him always.

  • @VIGGOZEALOT Actually JD didn't have a will when he died. SO....Annie as exectrix was left to sort through it all!! JD had 5 trusts set up- for the three kids, Erma, and Annie. There were headaches with the IRS & JD's house was sold too. Cassie Delaney TRIED to get all the trust money for Jess but was blocked in court from doing that. With a split family, it was a mess for awhile & why Annie deserves credit sorting it all out fairly for all 3 kids.

  • @VIGGOZEALOT Also, 4 of the 5 trust funds were wiped out in the Madoff scandal a few yrs back. SO- they lost a chunk of the investment although were able to get back some when Madoff's holdings or what they could get were distributed. Probably why Annie sold the house she was in (that JD built for her) and moved into a much cheaper codo a year or so ago now.

  • it just goes to show.he put so much love into a song by just saying goodye!

  • You can hear the hurt in his voice . That he and Annie were not able to get back together.

  • His voice was worn and tired in this recording, but he pulled it off again, like the pro he was..........

  • What a genuine talent. There will never be anyone like JD in the music world again.

  • I feel sad that he pass on. But my heart is filled with his loving music which gives me faith in life and love. "How can he leave us" again. A true american and such a personal person. He grew up with us and a piece of us died when he died. Love ya John Denver (and John Lennon)........Miss you both, Love ya brothers, David

  • for all the 31 years that you have kept me in your heart...i'd like to share this with you... for my friend from Tustin,California.... Take Care Always

  • this is beautiful. all of his songs were great. such a voice. seems there was a message in each song.

  • After 13 years i'm sitting here, crying, his death is so cruel!

  • what was the last song on wlidlife concert?

  • Man this song is so beautiful and honest. I think this song was written for every one of us. Thanks John

  • I learned to play the guitar practicing all his songs.

  • I saw him in Wheeling West Virginia on a Sunday in a PACKED arena! He was so Awesome ! He was a Wonderful entertainer! Thank you for the memory

  • I was about 13 when I first got a tape from my sister-it was the "An evening with John Denver".That was in 1973. From there on - he inspired me to sing most of his acoustic songs that I serenade with my friends, love ones and girl friend. Listening to his songs again certainly brings back alot of memory..Its a moment in my life I hold so dearly to..wishing I could live it all over again no matter how painful some of these moments can be...God bless u John..Hope to see u someday in heaven.

  • I got to see him live and met him backstage in 1987. It was his 1973 eveing with John Denver that made me want to learn the banjo. So I did and he is to thank. His banjo player John Sommers was awesome. A part of me died when he died but there is another side to this life and want to hear him live again.

  • John Denver was the best. His words - transcendent. His Voice and Words always touch me, remind me, center me, humble me, and heal me....Thank you John....

  • I wish I've seen him before he died. and lestin to him singing live. That would be the greatest treat I'd ever had.

  • @23mkgirl even better was hearing him talk to ME!! so soft loving and yet a guy's guy. He was and is my hero. But fear not he isn't gone we all are immortal. we all will be reunited with our bodies but in perfect form. But John Denver or any good person's soul ghost or spirit is alive and well. and he will like us be resurrected like Christ. so you someday will be able to hear him live. My feelings.

  • Even though this is 3 very great songs, it sounds like his voice is pretty tired, doesnt it? he doesnt hit all the high notes, and sometimes his voice goes "out of control" or something like that.. Guess even one as great as JD can have a bad day...

    example: 5:02

would have loved to see this man play live though..

  • @bbbbbbbbbbbbbgbbbbbb he may have been sick during this performance. Maybe he was dealing with inner termoil that effected his singing. He turned his pain into music but sometimes event the greats can be overcome by sadness.

  • Dear John has given me and continues to give me many hours of pleasure listning to his beautiful songs, all his Lyrics are so poetic, sometimes the hair on the back of my neck stands whin I hear some of the lyrics they are so wonderful and so meaningful...Mike.M

  • the best. simply the best. rip, john

  • the best. simply the best. rip.

  • It's hard to believe that this man is gone for about 13 years. I really miss him very much.

  • I watched this with my old man over and over when i was about 4 years old, have just had my 28th birthday and i still love john denvers music, just wish had seen him live. R.I.P

  • Dear John, at his very best.

  • I remember watching this and at the time didnt have a vcr.... I so wanted to watch it again and again and after allthese years I can and I do... loved his music since 1970, wished I could have seen him, live, more times than I did.. fabulous posting, thank you BBC... Please release some of these shows on DVD!!!!

  • i could not imagine john denver beating his wife!

    3 great songs. amazing voice.

  • @MrPd250 He did NOT beat either of his wives!! See my response to Sami1973. SO frustrating even after all this time that the misconceptions continue!!

  • @puck57 So true!!!!! there is no way I would ever accept that John could ever hit anyone. He did have a short stinted drinking problem in the 80s from what I read, he had a problem with depression and when his popularity in HIS!!! mind deminished which was only in his mind,, and RCA dumped him,He took it hard. He is human like all of us, and devorces happens in this age. he was a victim like a lot of us.

  • His music always had a way of putting things in perspective....still does...

I'm so glad he gifted us with his music.... And I'm glad God gifted us with John.. if only for a little while...

  • I grew up on John's music. It will always remind me of the days I felt safe and loved, having my whole family here and in tact. I also had dreams of marrying this man. The love was so pure and honest and passionate.

  • Missing him today....

  • hahahah so wired

  • @starstar678 Acctually ,no one like him!!!

  • One of the greatest vocalists in musical history. What a pure voice.

  • @ STUCKER868 JOHN era tan bueno! Su voz era

Tan dulce! ERA gran cantante, gran compositor

Y POR SUPUESTO! GRAN GRAN SIDO HUMANO! Amaba

Cantar, NACIDO PARA CANTAR Y PARA AMAR!

  • Beautiful John Denver

  • This concert was held at The National Exhibition Centre Birmingham England on 5th December 1990. RIP John

  • It was nice to hear a story about his grandmother from Earthlinked, thanks.

Would be wonderful to hear more. I loved this 10 min. special. John's singing was & still is the best in the world to me at least. Missing you Mr. John Denver. Saddened your mom has passed this 2010 in Jan. May she rest in peace with her beloved son John Denver.~Ava~

  • Wanted to say thank you for this video. I am bringing in the new year with John. Something to make the night better.

  • Awesome upload Thank you

  • Why did you have to fly that plane in 1997?

You were so far above most entertainers!

  • Comment removed

  • Actually - it was due to a promise to his next door neighbor - Clint Eastwood. Denver promised to buzz his house - with his "new toy"!!! He never did buzz Eastwood's house!!!

And with over 2,400 hours of pilot experience - (in everything from gliders to his Lear Jet to his old stunt plane) - nobody would have expected an accident to happen.

  • @Grifiki He wanted to fly with the eagles.

  • Hi everyone.

I was at this show, ( What a Privalige ) this video truly does not show John at his best, the sound and vision quality is so poor...

But - It certainly does not detract from just what a wonderful performer he was.

  • @MrMacksBoy when was this show? thanks

  • Hi there...

Can't remember the exact date but it was around 1989 to 91...

Then again at his last live perpormance in UK, where he did a really long show Totally alone, just his six guitars.

I was in 4th row back directly in front of him, I went forward and put a piece of paper on the stage with a request which he did for me... Wow...

    I was so elated.!

I have now had 3 stars play a request for me at live shows.

John Denver, Johnny Cash, Don Williams...

    Regards Mr Macks Boy.

  • Probably 05/29/86

I have a complete list of all of John Denver concert dates - from the Fall of 1965 to 10/05/1997 - all 1,803 concerts - and his last concert in England was on 05/29/1986.

Before this one - you'd have to go back to December 29, 1982 (but he was wearing his glasses then)!!

  • @MrMacksBoy

You're lucky to be able to watch him performed live. Did you get some pictures?:-)

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • wow,i really love all his, song.jd were ever u r.ur,awesome for me.ur the great folk singer.

  • So amazing, I wish a guy would love ME with that heart, that passion..... :(

  • After seeing the whole concert on the new box set, I can see that He doesn't have a cold, he is holding back tears. you can see after he sings Annie's song, he wipes his eyes. so, he is just having an emotional day during this concert. He gets really emotional after all the "Annie songs". And, get the box set, it's wonderful:)

  • He often said that when he sung his songs - he relived the time in which he wrote them. But here - he admitted that he did have a "bit of a cold" - AND - his voice was not in top form because it was the end of a long road trip!!

He was the owner of a "pitch perfect" voice - very rare in humans (Elivs, Sinatra) They can sing ALL DAY - because there is NO strain on their vocal chords - it is their normal speaking voice - Denver even TALKED in key!!

He is obviously straining in these songs!!

  • I have heard that he had perfect pitch. I can imagine him having memories with these songs. It's funny, at the beginning of the show, he sounds fine, his voice is clear , like there is no cold, just tired. Perhaps, end of a cold. But, it seemed to me after Annie's songs he wipes his eyes, maybe I didn't see it correctly. And, his version of my sweet lady, he looked liked he was about to cry. A beautiful performance even with his struggle to sing. He is wonderful:) Thanks for your reply.

  • Doubt that he teared up after Annie's song - but it is possible because he relived it every time he sang it - and after a few thousand times - it really means nothing at all!!! If he wipes his eyes - it is probably sweat - not tears!!!! He was the ultimate performer - and would NEVER allow his emotions to conflict with his job!!!

He once - on a bet - he tuned the RCA studio piano - using only his voice. The piano tuner came behind him - it was perfect - all 77 keys! Great voice - great ears!!

  • And a pitch perfect voice - is a gift from God - it takes no training - it is always on key - a GREAT vibrato - he basically talks and hits the notes adds a vibrato - and is extremely rare in humans!!! His Grandmother Swope (original owner of "This Old Guitar") noticed it when he was about 13 years old!! We all talk off key - he talked and laughed ON key and he could do 5 shows a day - without ANY strain on his vocal chords!!! AMAZING!!!!

  • I hate the limit we have here...he certainly did have an amazing voice. I miss what would have been if he had lived. that amazing voice continuing to mature as it had been, and see how it developed. I still say he got emotional at this performance. when he sings my sweet lady, you can see he is feeling lots of feelings. Not to say he is not the ultimate performer. I think it makes his performance better because it's from the

heart. He calls himself mood and sensitive, just like my husband:)

  • This is one of the concerts that is on the soon to be released John Denver Live around the World 5 DVD box set coming out this month!!! I can't wait!!!

The words, the lyrics, the music everything you touched and did was so beautiful

  • Saw him in 74 at a concert for John Kerry and Boston Democrats. Stole the show from some great performers: Judy Collins, Tom Rush and Peter Yarrow. If you haven't, I'd recommend finding his duet with Cass Elliot on Leavin'.

  • His voice seems to be failing here.

  • It's obvious he was sick- it's been brought up here in earlier posts. He still gave 110% even with a strained voice.

  • he sang "How Can I Leave You Again" in a much higher key than he originally had recorded..and he sang it beautifully...yes, his voice failed a bit in "I'm Sorry" probably

due to the strained voice from the previous song...but John sang very well from the heart...

  • He actually had a cold, but never failed to perform or let his fans down, true spirit. Its still great though.

  • Here is A question I've never heard asked, What did John mean in I'm Sorry - I'm sorry for the way things are in China? What about China? I know he was in China when he wrote Seasons of the Heart and Shanghai Breezes. But when he wrote I'm Sorry that was years earlier.

  • I think JD was just using a little "poetic license" with the phrase about China- obviously one song had nothing to do with the other- they were written years apart as you noted. He may have just been commenting about the general state of things in China- politically perhaps with the censorship at the time and still there today. to a large degree. He was staring to get world and politically conscious as well so that was probably part of it.

  • A few other "examples" from JD's songs where he uses some poetic license;

From "Back Home Again"- "You felt the baby move just yesterday." JD wrote this before they had adopted Zak & obviously Annie was never pregnant.

From "Matthew"- about his one uncle on his dad's side who died in an accident whom JD was very close to. He was the second youngest son of Dutch's siblings. JD wrote "Was his father's only boy". Well- obviously not!!! So JD used poetic license in a number of his songs.

  • I think in the end, he did realize that Annie was the woman he really did truly love. A trist is a trist and I am sure JD had his. if Annie went with him on the road when he wanted her to, they may never would have divorced.

  • What a wonderful song, and beautiful soulful voice....we need more of this song writing...

  • thanks john, for this beautiful song.....

  • HE was the best.

    Read his autobiography,

    You may understand him better.

May he have found the peace in the ocean that he didn't find in this life.

God Blessed us with John Denver.

    Thank you, God.

  • You people are sick. WHO of you lived in HIS skin??? He was an artist, and a musical genius. Knock off the nonsense. John, we love you!

  • John Denver was an amazing song writer and singer. They just don't write songs like this anymore. So very sad he has left this world. I think he must have been a very loving person to write the beautiful he wrote with such meaning. I wished he had found the love he was searching for before he passed away. He left this world far before his time.

  • thank you!

  • @GabrielleMeadows He did beat his wife but you can't get away from the fact he was very talented. I have a place in my heart for him because my dad loved and still does love JD. He was a big part of my childhood. This reminds me of being little...

  • @TheSami1973 JD did NOT beat either of his two wives!!!!! It is NOT TRUE!!! You will not find it anywhere that he did and neither Annie or Ms Delaney would say he did.- although Ms Delaney's versions of their marriage changed before & after he died. IF you are refering to the incident with Annie and the chainsaw- he cut up some furniture & always regretted the "adolescent" behavior afterwards. He grabbed Annie in the kitchen BUT never hurt her. Foolish behavior-yes- but he didn't beat her.

  • Comment removed

  • @GabrielleMeadows Right on!! I read that Charlie Rich lit the paper where Jonn Denver's name was on when John Denver won the award on fire with a lighter. I you tubed his music and what crap cheap steamy sophmoric garbage compaired to John's music . not even in the same league and not many folks are. And yes he was so so tender warm and when I met him I could feel the love for his fans emulate . in the one muppet vid you can see how he pet robin. That isn't acting that was real

  • @mikewarmblood - Charlie Who?

  • @tuckasamms Charlie Rich the guy who sung that cheap steamy love country songs like behind close doors

  • Miss ya John....THey don't write your kind of music anymore............Always great to hear you sing..........Thank god we have you on YOUTUBE and all the wonderful people who post your videos. God Bless

  • David, I miss you, and love you. Please listen to this and know I mean every word.

  • I agree.

  • One of the most wonderful songs, a favorite since 1978 when I was a teenager until now, I feel so sad he is not here anymore...

  • He has such a pure, true voice. His songs are so full of emotion. Hearing these 3 selections makes me sad that he's not here anymore.

  • There aren't enough leee deee deees and laaadee daaaas and whoooo hooooo ooooohs in songs anymore these days.

  • Even though he was sick.. wonderful, simply wonderful

  • Sick? What do you mean? Please clarify.

  • He had a cold, fever or the flu. Can't remember which one.....

  • Thanks j1p9v6t8. Hadn't heard that. He looks great and sounds great in How Can I leave you again. Starts to have trouble in I'm sorry. Poor guy. Had to perform when he was sick. Couldn't have been fun. God I love that guy. So sad he's gone!

  • doesn't matter, he was wonderful.

  • I loooooooooooooooooooooooove the first song and all the others 2

  • The best.

  • Just beautiful

  • jonh est vraiement le meilleur au monde

  • What a treasure we had, he left a rich legacy of music. I loved him from the first time I heard his voice. Thank you for posting this.

  • I must be clear out of my mind-to have hated this guy so much when I was younger and he was in his prime. I had to be cool and listen to screeching metal guitars with 3 hour solos and screaming off key singers. Youth really is wasted on the young.

  • roogerrodd - you have missed so much. I envy you, because you can, if you choose discover the early albums, enjoy the message...that most somehow almost everybody missed when JD BURST O NTO THE SCENE, AND FOR A LONG TIME AFTER.

  • @rogerrodd

I think it is amazing that you admit this. I, too, listened to a lot of hard rock; some good, some not so good (but I thought it was at the time). But I listened to John Denver at the same time, because a group of my friends did, and we were into camping and backpacking and taking our guitars along. This is perfect campfire music. So anyway, STOP kicking yourself in the ass. At least you are enjoying it now!

  • @rogerrodd Imagine how i feel now at 35, i grew up in the ghetto on rap music. My how i've changed

  • @jaydog7575 Haven't we all-and with very good reason.

  • I must be listening to a different song than you guys. His voice broke only a few times, otherwise it was a strong performance. He sang 3 songs without stopping and with no drinks in between. Give the dead guy a break.

  • No one is being critical of JD- just commenting his voice is obviously tired or strained from a long tour or being sick. Even when his voice was not 100% he still gave 150% in his performance- everyone would agree. He gave his "all" no matter what- no way you could be critical.

  • be thankful we had him for awhile .... he's not raspy.... he's a poet

  • a hoarse voice but the spirit to sing is what JD makes him the best performer... the original pitch is too high for him here..

  • Even though John is having voice problems in this performance, I don't think I've ever heard him sing with more emotion.

I last saw him perform in 1996, just about a year before he died. He was wonderful. R.I.P., John.

  • wow...he is really horse in this program. Was he perhaps sick that day? Jet lag? Poor fella....

  • Probably sick is most people's guess- and at the very least at the end of a long tour- with a very hoarse voice- or maybe a combination of both!!!!

  • I think John Denver simply had second thoughts about being so honest in his 1994 autobiography - he admitted to being human - he got angry - he screwed around on Annie constantly - he communicated poorly - and he knew it. JD was the normal over achiever with a true gift from God - his music and that wonderful voice!!

  • Wow...time flies by! You mean I paid $40 for something he wasn't happy with?! That book was VERY hard to find! I guess that means he would not have liked the TV Movie based on the book either. The book is quite interesting-you can find it at your public Library. I'd be interested in your thoughts if you do read it. He was really FAR OUT in his New Age EST stuff.

  • There were many complaints about the movie because of inaccuracies of when events happened- ex: "Annie's Song" being written right before they divorced- not true- came out in '73/'74- divorced in '82. Ron (his brother) publicly blasted the movie and also complained that it was too shallow a version. As far as the book, I think JD thought it was too "tabloidish"- focusing too much on infidelites, drugs, etc. when there was a lot more to him. Having read the book I would tend to agree.

  • I don't think there will ever be another singer as great as John Denver. My husband bought me his book on E-Bay for $40. I don't remember him saying why he and Cassie divorced, but it's been awhile since I've read it. I would love to see a picture of Jesse Belle. I named my horse after her, but realized I spelled it wrong. It was a priviledge to see him in concert so many yrs. ago. I was so excited when I found all of these videos on YouTube! He will always be remembered and loved.

  • I would be kind of careful taking everything as gospel in the book that JD came out with in '94. He was not thrilled with the final version, even apologized to some close friends and family and apparently stopped the book tour as well. That said- what Blackwhimsy wrote below is pretty much in a nutshell what happened in the 2nd marriage- NOT pretty.

  • There are not a many photos of any of JD's three kids in recent years. One wedding photo of Jesse B. at her uncle's wedding last year she had black hair- (probably dyed) and looked at lot like the mom. Jesse B. (19 this month) and Ms. Delaney have been back in Australia where Jesse B. is studying art. Anna K. (31) and her husband Jamie live in New Zealand where they run a bed and breakfast place and Zak (34 this month) and wife Jennifer live in CO where he teaches.

  • what an artist! he seems ill here but still sings on and dose it very good! miss you john.

  • Boy could he write. could listen too this voice all day. long may his memory last.Thank you for the music

  • What a beautiful voice and how blessed we are that he shared his talent with us. Thanks for this post.

  • STOP!!

The man was a musical genius!! We are to know ONLY that person that he presented to us on stage and in recordings!! He is allowed to have a life - and that does NOT affect his music!! Just enjoy the music - allow him the same things that you and I take for granted - a personel life - without everything being re-invented and put in the tabloid press!!!

  • At least allow him to rest in peace!!

  • I could'nt agree w/you more! We! the living at times live our lives vicariously through others. At times we forget that the person we hold so high is only human w/frailties. We tend to look at the negatives more harsley because we put these people on a pedalstall. I look at JD and remember the musical gift he left behind for generations to come. And for those human frailties of his, great songs were created because of them. RIP JD for we all miss you so...

  • EL-I agree-sort of.

An artist owes us good art & no more. In an ideal world, their personal life would be none of our biz.

However, with JD it is harder to separate the man & his music,as 99 % of it was soul baringly autobiographical.

It's not always easy to enjoy a work of art & not seek details of the inspiration behind it.

Who honestly could separate Van Gogh's anguish from his paintings? Or Wilde's Dorian Gray from his doomed love for Bosie?

At times,to know the art,u need to know the man.

  • Actually about 60% of it is John Denver - as he wrote about 60% of the songs that he recorded!! MOST of his hits - he wrote!!

Also - I think at times - if you know the art - you know the man!

  • Well all the songs that defines him as a character are his own at least. Songs like Country Roads, Thank God I'm A Country boy could never be as touching as Poems, Prayers and Promises or Rhymes And Reasons or Follow Me etc.

  • Blackwhimsy...She is the one who left him. He had affairs while touring and the marriage suffered because he was never at home. I've got his Autobiography and have seen several Biographies on TV. The heavy drinking started after he and Annie split-up.

  • "Greetings From Scotland" I Agree, Also John Denver Wrote Some Great Songs, His Songs Will Always Live On.

  • The heavy drinking started in 1982 - when he and Annie broke up, his father died, and RCA cancelled his recording contract!! I'd drink too!!!!!!!!!

  • Astalley-I think we've got our lines crossed re which wife we're talking about.

I read his biog & concur.

Annie asked for a divorce, because of his infidelities.

John however initiated the divorce from 2nd wife Cassie because she fooled around & with someone he regarded as a friend. He even got a restraining order to ban her from the house. He began to drink when she opted to make it a messy divorce & use Jesse as leverage for a large settlement.

    Hope that clears things up.

    Cheers.

  • Would agree with your "summaries" except with AD I think the his infidelities were the symptom of deeper issues because they did not communicate better at the time- like she was unhappy just sitting at home and he had all the fun seeing the world- he probably never would have asked to divorce her- he always loved her and she in many ways as well vice versa. AND I think at the end of his life they were talking a lot and realized a lot of that. The Ms. Delaney analysis speaks for itself!!

  • Hi Puck,

About a year ago you wrote "he probably never would have asked to divorce her". I interpreted John's comments in his book to mean that he was more than ready for his marriage to Annie to be over. He wrote" "Enough guilt. I needed to end the charade. I needed Annie to get to that point too." Then he wrote "Season's of the Heart" and finally "Falling out of Love". I believe he continued to love her as a friend but that he didn't love her romantically anymore.

  • I wish you hadn'd had to go so soon. I miss you soooo...

  • Thank you angusyoung111.These are the most beautiful love songs ever written and ever sung of all times.

  • If you love this video clip, try the cd from Russia. It's just John and his guitar for 2 hours and his voice is outstanding, mesmerizing. :)

  • He went through so much pain that it is amazing he could sing at all. The fact that he could do it even in the most difficult times shows the true power of the love of life he had in his heart.

  • Ok Thanks Gerryuk....i READ THAT IN A MAGAZINE,,,BUT YES..THEY GET IT WRONG SOMETIMES.....GREAT MAN HE WAS ANYWAY

  • this is the best concert he has ever done! yes, his voice isnt that good on some songs but ts the passion he uses!

  • Gerrryuk......get your facts straight about the Aussie whom he married...to my knowledge..she left because of his drinking......

  • Er not true.He left HER because she had several affairs-including Nitty Gritty dirt Ban'd Jimmy Ibbotson. He only began to drink once he realised he'd been completely used.

  • Every time I really enjoy.

    Bedankt

  • He put so much joy in this world !I wipe the tears from my eyes as I say thanks John, far out !!!!! thank you....

  • Only Annie knows the true story, but she asked him for a divorce, because he loved her so much & did not want to her feel anguish agreed. Then the rebound when he finished with that harlet from Aussie.

Annie, I think misses John, as we all do.

  • I was at this concert & he was not his usual self & think his heart was with Annie. My marriage was breaking up, (because I also worked away) so had empathy with him.

Was at his last performance in 1996 in Birmingham(UK).Just John,& his guitars no backing or orchestra, he was brilliant & was happy, maybe the chance of reconciling with Annie. His last words that night were, "that's all you get, see you in two years. Was hoping to see him again in 1998, throughout the UK, sadly.....

  • I love every minute of it. Sang with so much emotion and passion - you can see JD meant every single word he sang.

Indeed the world has lost one of the best.

  • He often apoligized profusly to Annie - and with good reason. But it often fell on deaf ears - as JD states in the first song "I'm a sailor that runs to the sea."

Must have been at the end of a tour - his voice is a little horse and cracking - but still wonderful!!!

  • I dedicate these songs to my first so young then love. Thank you John.

  • Three great songs...thank you so much for sharing.
