Dejan, you don't have to prove to me, you're tough. Was through CCPH as well, just some *cough* two hours and something slower than you :) Damn your'e fast :)
What watts are you riding at or aiming at for a full IM bike stage btw?
I am pleasantly surprised how many comments there are on this video.
This was just one workout at the pace of my ironman. So,It is the speed that I hold for 4-5 with.
Compared with PRO cycling It is not much, but in the world of PRO triathlon- it is still enough!! 14.8.2011 Last week, I was 3rd at Challenge triathlon in Copenhagen. 3,8km swimm, 180km bike and marathon= 8hour 12minut 13second
I have a Profile Aerodrink installed on my bike. I found that with a bumpy road, the velcro started to come loose and it almost fell off. I had to stop to fix it, and that soured me on it somewhat. Also, if you don't put that brillo pad thing in, it will splash with even slight bumps.
thats 25mph for 40 seconds?!?! thats NOTHING!!!! i can do 25mph for longer than that and this guy has campagnolo bora wheels!! his time trial bike looks like it cost him atleast $7,000 US dollars and thats the best he can do?!?!!
i can sustain 25mph for atleast 3 minutes on a regular road bike with $200 shimano wheels.
@13tarmac And I can sustain 27mph on my aluminium road bike wihout tri bars for 10 miles and I'm 15 years old. YouTube isn't here so we can brag about ourselves
@mccarthyej Open your eyes man! I wa replying to the nub down below who thinks that he is better than this guy! 25 average on a 25 is great for a triathlete
its always hurts to see someone with fantastic equipment, sponsors (probably), and someone willing to video your training when a 40 for 40 isnt even an achievement. I could do that 7 years ago when I just got into the sport. Anyone see any hills???
His got right equipment's so that's not so hard, my best effort for 40 km timetrial is JUST 1 hour with slightly more poor equipment's late 90's when I otherwise were able to cycle Ironman race's 180 km
round 5 h 15 minutes which is relatively 'slow' riding.
a good trained person can ride faster and longer as him... i kept this speed this summer for over 2 hours, so what's so special at this ride... on this flat steets... but you have to train well, then it's no problem

actiasluna80 2 years ago
@actiasluna80 I dont do tri and I dont have the money for a decent road bike and have to make due with my MTB for right now.

40km/h for 40 mins is a very good effort - unless he was motor pacing that camera car the whole way :)
JClurkmoar 2 years ago
only 40kph? LOL, i could faster
BrundukasLT 2 years ago
If he's averaging 40km/ph then I'd say you must be a very good cyclist. 40km/ph is easy to get to but keeping it there isn't.
pauldawson2003 2 years ago
Yeah, I think the 40' means 40 minutes at 40km/h which is quite a pace to sustain...
