FWIW, it is not a crime to flush a Koran in the U.S. There's no law that says it. There is no FEDERAL law that can even be construed to IMPLY it.

However, there are state laws that generally describe hate crimes, and this COULD fall under some of them, though not explicitly.

Frankly though, most hate crimes laws violate the Fifth Amendment requirement of due process: convicting you of a crime where there's no evidence of intent.

The opposite of a neoconservative is a "paleoconservative." They tend to be isolationist in terms of foreign policy. Examples of "paleocons" include Pat Buchanan and - arguably - Ron Paul.
