  • Super travail !!!

  • WOW

  • I can't believe I watched the whole thing...

  • somehow, i think Ricky Wilson would approve

  • How long did this take to make?!?!

  • The most difficult instrument ever!

  • This is what the terminators will do all day after they finally kill all of man kind.

  • Brilliant !

  • All your base are belong to us!

  • All hail transformers v.001!

  • I want to see these guys live! They fucking ROCK!

  • Pretty awesome. But extremely fucking disturbing

  • The truth behind Kraftwerk!

  • I didn't know Stephen Hawking had a band

  • @Wargrith LOOOOOOOL

  • This is what the Iranians made with the captured US spy drone parts.

  • freaking awesome!!

  • Everybody had matching taiolls.

  • I used to play this song. Then I took an arrow in the knee.

  • fuck yeah

  • my penis has never been so confused before...

  • ????????

  • thanks family guy, for helping me find this

  • @Mookle123 YES ALL THE WAY

  • hey, make that guitar thing play through the fire and the flames.

  • @Mookle123 Do you have any idea how hard that would be?

  • How the fuck...?

  • Is that an old EICO kit scope. Looks real familiar.

  • Well, I'm glad you have improved since this.

  • Needs more Peter Griffin

  • Wooow !! Mate, this epicness ! =D

  • Better than Justin Bieber!!!!

    xD

  • Wuuuaaah....! Instrumente stimmen wäre schon mal ein Plan gewesen....

  • Captured by Robots! does the same thing except the dude does it LIVE with the robots he created. It's pretty fucking abstract though....

  • i will kidnap that talkin box wit the green vibratin screen!

  • Needs more cowbell.

  • 8B

  • Hey guitar robot ! Do slide.

Just kidding. In my beautiful language: Zajebiste !

  • @Finkreth3 Hey! I don't know what is your beautiful language, but in my beautiful language "zajebiste" means fuck yeah or something like that xD

  • cant wait to see them live!

  • Glorious.

  • I'm a nerd, I love this. :D

  • The fact that it sounds a little off-timed, makes it seem like there were actually robots that came to life and made an amateur band, which this is far from xD good job! ;D

  • oh god i laughed so hard i lodged my penis in my RJ45 port help... someone please...

  • I am blown away. Proud to show the world Canadian Ingenuity at it's best.

  • @Aaricia11 If this is Canadian ingenuity at it's best, then that is kind of sad. Clever, cool, fun, yes... Ingenuity AT IT'S BEST? Hmmmmm

  • Meh, it's better than the original.

  • I even find the way it slowly goes out of sync to be charming in a robotic way

  • I find this very depressing

  • Sure, I can understand that timing can be a touchy thing to fix, but at least tune your guitar before recording and it would sound tighter.

  • niiiiiiice one ;D

  • MIDI OR CV ?

  • So, the timing is off a bit. Still putting it all together and even getting this close is some feat in itself.

  • Not as good as "The Trons"

  • Come on! U don't even need instruments these days! The churches R now installing digital organs and putting the speakers behind the old pipework. The congregations don't know nor do they care!

  • trollin' for unicorns

  • so how does this work? midi to cv?

  • Iraq Lobster :D

  • Coooooooollll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG, I think I"m in love with you. Will you marry me?

  • Now do, like a g6

  • have you tried doing love shack or doing some Devo songs that would be cool and keep it up its amazing work your doing also how did it come to you to do this I see others that are good but this is amazing and the Quality in work and camera is incredible like if it was a music video thank you.

  • 29 people don't watch family guy

  • S0me0ne c0mplained ab0ut the timing?!?

Idiotic manifestations of comm0n fucking ignorance!

  • Is there a way to actuate it WITHOUT using solenoids? I'm guessing that running a cooling loop (cooling jacket) around the solenoids would probably increase the complexity AT LEAST TEN fold.

  • one day this might be common place...its funny

  • <3

  • 2001 A space odissey

  • Genius. It must have taken forever, and I thank you for making the effort!

  • You guys didn't know Stephan Hawkins could sing too huh ?

  • @xsmashxhousex Well, more than a note. For this song, you use drop C tuning. It's intended to not be standard.

  • @ 2:25

    is that a gws servo?

  • A quote from Christopher Walken. "Guess what? I gotta a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell"

  • NICE ! :D

  • Батя одобряэт. Ковер детектед

  • Isn't the guitar off a note? Cool, regardless...

  • lol! Great

  • Weed

  • what the fuck did i just watch?

  • really impressive

  • I'm More the Megazord

  • @xXSamster96Xx shut up, do you have to bring up that name in such a great video?

  • GLaDOS would HEaDBaNG to this!

But yeah, more cowbells, because COWBELLS FTW!!

  • meistens aber garnicht im tackt

  • einfach hammer^^

  • THE SCANNER IS THE BEST

  • 4:42.

  • Awesome.

  • Beats watching a bunch of laptoppers.

  • creepy.

  • tempo outta sync.

  • 21 people got kicked in the balls by the leg bots from herbie hancocks rockit video XXD

  • Everyone, we have a special guest tonight, meet THE HAWKINGS!

  • EPIC WIN on multiple levels of geek awesome.

  • Just pointing out, that "Rock Lobster" is older than the Band B-52's .....

  • I came across this video from your other video showcasing the "EOL Robot Band"... Is this the same band just under a different name? Possibly with more "musicians"? I see a lot of similarities between the two, but there seems to be more instruments in this one.

    Awesome job.

  • Muss ja verdammt viel Programmierarbeit gewesen sein o.O

  • Stephen Hawking is the vocalist..

  • Keyboard is an eight note late. Drums are a sixteenth note off and the vocal part is off by a quarter note. Who says robots are perfect?

  • @horowizard well perhaps de programmer is not a musician, perhaps you should create your own robo band and upload songs...

  • Sounds like Radiohead.

  • Well you could definately make an actual working "rockit-herbie handcock" video

  • the riff isn't quite right, it's 3 0 3 2 on the a string not 3 2 3 2

  • i like everything but the vocals

  • woot old school analog oscilloscope whatchu guys know about that?

  • And thus the standard, by which all musicians would be measured in the future, was born.

  • This is the beginning of the rise of the machines.

  • EVERYBODY HAD MATCHING TOW-ELLS

  • You know what the definition of irony would be? Running this through an autotuner.

  • I suppose there are lots of bands out there that have an equally difficult time playing in sync . . . :-\

  • That would be the true music of a Robot Rock Daft Punk

  • Forever alone.

  • Welcome to the future!

  • Fantastic! I'm so glad there are people with so much time on their hands...

  • wow... I love technology and I actually used to help run and still archive the MIT PICList mailing list for Microchip controllers, some of which were used in this... but... even so, that is a little creepy. Funny... awesome (took a /lot/ of work, I'm sure)... but creepy. Love the slide down the neck of the guitar with the little rubber roller. Hats off.

  • Your in torronto o_o im in markham

  • Needs more cowbell :-)

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if it was not rocklobster i wold have loved it

  • I freaking need some computer parts now. ;)

  • @flashdragoonsbro125 Rock Band 3 Keyboard is smaller 2 octaves plus 1 note, C3-C5

  • Incomparably wonderful - instant fave!

  • Sounds very good. You should really record some of your music projects!

  • Robots freak me out...

  • I didnt that Stephen Hawking was so gifted

  • ANIMUSIC IS ALIVE!!!

  • Did Bill Gates book this band for his wedding?

  • Did you get a A on this?

  • It's the C.O.P.S.!

  • 16 people obviously have lost their will to lol.

  • how do you get all this to work in sequence?

  • Hmm, i prefer their cover of Queen

  • Fred Schneider v. Oscilloscope. Technology WIN.

  • KOOL

  • nice carpet on the wall

  • it sounds as something that Ross would compose xD

  • Needs more cowbell :P

  • I LOVE YOU! I AM AMAZED WITH YOUR EXTREME TALENTS!!!

You must have a very VERY high I.Q, because what you do in your videos is extremely above average, and deserves praise.

    BEST VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE

  • Even tho you just ruined the song for me... its still cool that you can do that :) ROBOTICS RULE!

  • Everyone had matching TAWAELS

  • Stephen Hawking rocks! But seriously, that's a helluva lot of work. Awesome job!!!!!!

  • Heard you on CBC-Spark. Cool, clean, Canadian winter project. Great brains work well during our winter!

  • you rock

  • LOL nice. Talk about too much time on your hands

  • Great mechanics but the guitar is very out of tune and it's rendering the entire piece slightly out of tune. Funny how the simplest part of this elaborate experiment is just tuning the guitar...

  • Amazing

  • Love the Bit 52's Great work!

  • When can we expect to hear Bink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine"?

  • Can't wait 'til the next single -- Love Radio Shack :D

  • my laptop can do same thing with midi file...

  • @merlintintin Would your laptop playing a midi file get 160k+ views though? ... I decidedly think not.

  • Kinda scary to see it all happen without anyone around. BUT....

Great work man, too bad more people dont fill their time with creative endeavors!

  • Even robot bands drink beer in the studio

  • A Spark got me here.

  • Herd about this ob CBC radio. COOL!

  • LOTS OF TROUBLE. LOTS OF TROUBLE.

  • Pure Genius!!!! :-)

  • CBC repeat sent me straight here. Ya gotta love this guy...

  • i heard this the first time it played ib cbc...i meant to check it out then...but never got around to it..neat!

  • yay CBC!!!!!!!

scanners, are almost as good as the original girls.

  • Yep , heard the interview on CBC Radio this morning, and later had the link forwarded. lOVE IT.

  • This is great, James. Just heard you on CBC while driving on the road, and had to check this out the moment I stepped into my house. It's amazing as well as hilarious.

  • come on people we need 1 million views!

  • I just heard about this video on the CBC and yes I went right to YouTube...

  • @DaVeers1 SAME.

  • Just heard the interview on CBC. Good job James, look forward to more songs from the Bit-52's.

  • I NOMINATE THIS FOR A GRAMMY! BEST INTERPRETATION OF A CLASSIC!

  • just heard this on CBC!

  • This is a great use of time and a brilliant vid. How anyone can bang on about poor timing is beyond me. I'd like to see those people do better.

  • I liked when it went: doot doot doot doot doot doot, boop!

  • When robots are sentient, they'll give up world domination and play rock and roll instead. xD

  • I love the scanners sound for backing vocals

  • Great stuff - I really enjoyed watching this - seems the craze for robot bands has begun!!

  • ITS LIKE A LIVE VERSION OF "ANIMUSIC" XD

  • The greatest up and coming band ;) It's really awesome dude XD Keep up the good work :)

  • that little machine plays better guitar than me :(

  • Is that a Peavey Raptor?

  • This is epic, but not too epic. If it were to be a Rube Goldberg contraption, that would have been so epic that the world would have exploded.

  • stephen hawkings must love this band!

  • the machines are self aware we all screwed

  • My favorite part of this is the old O-scope giving a visual of the vocals.

Adds that 50s sci-fi feel to the whole thing.

  • Is It controlled by Serial
