  • my great grandfather was in the polish resistance, he fought for something that would not exist for another 70 years

  • where is the song from? / name?

  • Not all Nazis were bad. In Russia a Ukranian soldier was about to shoot a Jewish woman and her baby. A German officer stood in front of him and said'Stop. One day history will judge us.'

  • @thehaggisassassin people say that the germans were nazi's in ww2, not the case, british government is conservative at the moment, i am a labour supporter, so doesnt that make me conservative??? no becouse i voted and supported labour, it was a similar case in germany with the nazi party, ino its not the same, but similar, and alot of germans were forced to fight forced to do alot of bad things, wich they dis-agreed with.

  • @thehaggisassassin another case: during a search for jews in poland a German soldier looked up into the attic of a house and found a family of hiding jews. when his officer asked what he had found, the soldier replied 'there's nothing up here.'

  • Britain Gave the time, America brought the Money, Russia gave the blood. Russia lost 20 million men and women.

  • my great great granpa lived through this war BARELY..my dad told me that his dad (and so on) said that Great great granpa had nightmares of living through D-DAY again

  • My Grandpa and his best friend served in WWII. They were B-29 Pilots. My Grandpa died in 1989, of a heart attack, and his friend in over 90, and we stay in touch by phone and email. I just turned 14. I really, really, really wish I was born in the 1920's. I really wish it. This generation is so screwed up. The world is trash now.

  • @TheAnastasiaLee You wouldn't of wanted to be born then. The world was in just as much shit as we are now, maybe even more. With WW1 ending and an already unstable economy, going into a depression, draft during WW2 (Still in the depression), the draft for the Vietnam war, the red scare, the Cuban Missile crisis, etc. Be great full that we aren't in that anymore. Non-the less, these men like your grandfather and mine as well served well and shall never be forgotten.

  • @JizzTechCo How would you know what I want? I wish I was there. I know my history, I know what happened in those times. I think those days were better than these. Now the only thing kids think about is gameboys, and wii, and other junk. I don't like wii, so I have nothing to loose. I would have rather lived then, when people had respect. You are a couple years older than me, and I see you know your history too, but I know what I want in life. I would have rather lived then.

    ~Anastasia Lee~

  • @TheAnastasiaLee Well, I'm not saying your likes or dislikes. Of course the people back then were much more respectful and actually focused on important things in life, but you also have to consider their surroundings and what was going on around the world back then, and how horrible it was.

  • All in all, 57-70 million souls perished in WW2. Whoever they were, whatever the colour of their flags, may they rest in peace.

  • freakn awesome footage

  • that's amazing, so many heroic men and women were involved in that war, i'm glad they are honored for their service.

  • I will give you this in the beginning of the war the German whermacht was excellent and the most feared in the world but by the time the normandy invasion occured it was a multinational. and I can't believe you like the SS, the soldiers that worked at concentration camps. And if the Germans were so good then why were they stopped and pushed back on the russian front early in the war then destroyed even though they had numerical superiority

  • How can you really say that. Look how far away Russian borders are from Germany in map. Hitler made mistake and didnt attack and then came Winter. Russia was preparing counter-attack with many tanks and about 6 million soldiers, Germany got about 2 million soldiers + Germany was foughting in Africa. German got best technology and best trained soldiers you just cant denie that.

  • yeah and they advanced that far you look at how far we went (not that far) in comparison the US had to deal with a three front war also

  • @ArDeZe Germans captured Poland its bordered with USSR.

  • fuck

  • My uncle was sergeant in SS - Troops he never came back from the frontline. Rest in peace everybody who fought in war and died. Specially to the german troops, best soldiers world will never see.

  • dude not really think first Sparta and US paratroopers in World War 2 were excellent the Germans called them devils in baggy pants and the paratroops were the one force the Germans never beat

  • No. Paratroopers got smashed in bagstone and in holland. You dont seem to know anything about history. Paratroopers got heavy lost in operation market garden. So paratroopers got beated. German Wermacht and Waffen SS soldiers were best soldiers in battlefield.

  • Just because they got decimated doesn't mean they lost. the offensive portion of Market Garden failed for a number of reasons then they acted as frontline soldiers for 70 or so days something they weren't supposed to do. and while they weren't on the offensive in Bastogne they held their own against superior numbers and armor, as well as on the northern shoulder where the 82nd kicked ass trying to break the attack so don't ever say they were beaten

  • State US paratroopers fought against very weak soldiers of german like Volksturm. Most of Wermacht fought against Russia, but Waffen SS kicked paratroopers ass and us paratroopers kicked waffen ss ass. Yes paratroopers was excellent soldiers, but they were beated too.

  • they also fought against German paratroopers which had superior equipment to themand ok I'll give you the fact that they beat the shit out of each other but paratroopers never got their ass royally kicked the only time they failed to acheive their objectives was Operation Market Garden. Isn't the whermacht he regular German army so volkstrum divisions were apart of the whermacht granted lesser quality than panzergrenadiers

  • I gotta say you don't know anything about history

  • my uncle lost all of his squad members and friends in WWII so thank so much

  • My Great Grandfathers both fought in that war, in the same air regiment, in the RAF, in Spitfires... only one survived...thank you so much...

  • the axis troops were not "forced" to fight for their government. most of the people supported Hitler. did u see how the soldiers treated prisoners of the death camps. horribly. they made fun of jews, poles, slavs and everybody that was there. they treated them like shit. there were so many war crimes that numbers can not describe it. nor can words. Yes, there may have been VERY few exeptions, but for the most part they were all animals. they did not value life.

  • i think you should do some more history lesons m8, you have watched to many films, germon soldiers are real human beings, they had no say in what they had to do, there were some sick bastards but not like in the movies, hitler did alot for germany before the war and the anti-jew campanes, he gave money to poor people and he advertised normal living and anti alcohol, he also improved and got more homing fo the lower class familys

he started doing good things thats why people trusted him

  • but dont get me wrong i dont like hitler and what he didi, it was sick and fucked up,

but there are many german soldiers that ARE good people they were just led in the wrong direction, i have respect for any soldier that fought in ww2 & ww1 they sufferd a great deal, 50 million people died due to ww2, for people to go through with that kind of shit, i have respect for, UNLES they were sick twisted fuckers that beleaved that nazies were right

  • @strongman325 specially the waffen SS. they would give there life for hitler, and do anything he wished for. but in war, most of us become animals, wether we're on the good side or the bad side, all the killing in the end makes no difference to us. and taking a life is almost as simple as squashing a bug. this is what war does to all of us. we'll the soldiers anyways.

  • @strongman325 I agree but it was the Waffen-SS who treated the jews bad but also a lot of SS did not no about the death camps but most of the werhmact and some of the SS were either forced or Hitler lied remember hitler was a political genius who triked losts of germans read ''shinderlas list'' thats a good example:)

  • @timothydavey1 The Waffen-SS, boy please get out of here with your shit. You're making up shit you've heard from your hippie American pals, first off, of all branches of the SS the Waffen-SS was the least responsible for death camps(yes the Waffen-SS was A BRANCH of the SS), you moron. Blabla, most people knew exactly what was happening, blaming everything on the jews and saying that they need to be eradicated is pretty clear to me.

  • @strongman325 Well you were not right at one point I hate hippys and americans.

  • @timothydavey1 Read about Wehrmacht atrocities as well, there are several books that depict their cooperation with the SS and pleasure in persecuting and killing, not just jews you idiot(which is also another common misconception in the West, especially the US), but Poles, Soviets, gypsies, etc...

  • my great granfather was killed at monte casino there is a photo of him in his regiments museum while he served there

  • good video m8, 10/10!

  • this is a good video. thanks. my grandfather fought in ww2 and he served from the day we went into the war to the day we went out. he died in 2001.
