Good to see the Conservative party has the mature sense to welcome Atheists, as we do exist within the party & have many of their best ideas.
I wonder if the Republican party in the States would do the same - George Bush would never have got to power without the closeted Karl Rove...

Dawkins is wrong - science doesn't tell us much about why we exist at all. It only tells us how. This man is bad for science as he tries to apply it to non-material questions.

@euston78 I used to think this, but 'science' means 'knowledge' & so it comes in very handy when working out what the 'Why' might be.
Yes - the scientific method has its limits & is mostly 'How', but when evolution is proven true by 'how', the answer of 'God' to the question 'Why' becomes a bit difficult to uphold...

Most Christians understand the Athiest arguments for why they don't believe in God but they can never accept that position because it would mean denying the personal connection with God that they've experienced.
Christians explain that intellectual investigation isn't how you make that connection but Atheists prefer to do what they know doesn't work, so that they can continue to tell Christians the reasons why there is no God!
