@jacline28 Its jazz. You just need to know which artists, pianists, make the kind of music you like. Searching "Jazz Piano Ballads" may lead you to some of what you are looking for. However, I suspect that you are looking for more than what ballads have to offer. You may be after a hint of swing. Seems as if you want contemplation music.

The two performances that are posted are based on a tune of Bill's and on the way Bill played monk's 'Round Midnight. I believe that those who appreciate the qualities in our trio music will be rewarded by listening to the expanded versions. Nothing will bring Bill back, but the principles of his music inform whatever I do.

im 17, and honestly i feel privileged to be able to understand this type of music, for when most kids my age listen to this, they think its old, or just rubbish, but when i hear it, i hear all the chord changes, the subtleties in note choice, and the feel that bill puts into his playing. How sad it is that most of the world doesnt understand the greatest form of human expression in the world.
