I'm curious about where the throwing down of your hands comes from. When I learned this dance, it wasn't taught this way and for several years, I never saw it. Then, at an event in Malagentia about 3 years ago, folks started doing it. Now it seems to be spreading.
@bhubbard491 It's probably spreading just because it's fun. It's a fun way for me to pretend to be angry and stuff. And really, this dance is all about the fun. People still do it because it's just become such a part of the SCA, even though it's not period.
