My love for Blonde Redhead stemmed from the movie Hard Candy in which they played Elephant Woman over the end credits. Whilst listening to the commentary, I learned the band was Blonde Redhead and went on to listen to ALL of their songs. They're one of my favorite bands, this being one of my favorite songs, and I suppose I have the music supervisor of Hard Candy to thank for that. :o)

Interestingly, this song is also used throughout an episode of Numbers on CBS, S4 Ep 5, called Robin Hood. It was actually from hearing the first verse in the opening scene that made me hunt this song down by searching for the lyrics on google.  Anyways, this was the first I'd heard of this band, gonna listen to more songs and see where this fits in their catalogue.

Naa.. sorry mate but canno agree. I do agree that for the rest of their work Blonde Redhead offers a different kind of music but in any case its no different than dozens of new groups out there and Blonde Redhead, I think, has used up all its coins. This song "Spring and by summerfall" shows a totaly diffente group and goes into territories not charted for them which is good but at the same time a but frustrating cause the rest of their work simply sucks!!!

Latheworks is not totally out there. There is a place where the tempo and layering could be seen as similar to coldplay, especially where the melodic guitar comes thru. But only in sections; as the song develops in its entirety, you can see how coldplay's production values were in a much more mainstream direction whereas this kind of goes in an arty direction, with a bridge that would never be used in a pop song and throws out some hints of early 90's alt rock/sonic youth influence.
