  • Great snare. Try pointing the mic at the center of the drum and backing it away from the head a bit. Should take out that ring along with a piece of moon gel. Nice vid.

  • @PlanetDrumLTD: no effects or EQ... just plugged my Shure SM57 into the X2U (XLR to USB) and recorded it with the webcam capture sofware.

  • Dis you put any EQ or effects on it?

  • @johnpie2 @johnpie2 I used a pretty standard approach...the Bob Gatzen videos would be pretty accurate to the way I tuned it. Drum Dial settings would be 80 for the resonant and 90 for the batter. This drum has the stock Ludwig heads... which have a resonant or "snare side" head about the same as an Evans Hazy 200 or a Remo Diplomat snare side. The batter head is a Ludwig Weather Master coated medium... which is in the area of a Remo Ambassador coated.

  • @ptc5010: Yes it's a brass shell

  • @davewilson831 nickel plated brass shell from what I understand

  • Cool, is it a brass shell?

  • sounds awsome thinking of trading my joey jordison snare for this same snare. please post a vid played with the whole set...

  • @maysin33

btw nice snare you got there mate. im thinking about having one too but i still have to choose between black magic or black beauty. or even the handhammered bronze snare which is even better :)
