  • I Made a few traps in the S2F and can't believe how screwed up the pilot got things at 1:50. The Stuff was a sweetheart to land.

  • redbaroniii: I don't know anything about it, and my knowledge of the Navy is very limited, However it looks like only one main gear is down. It looks like it was gusty (shear winds). He likely had a little anxiety with one main up, so was likely flustered and trying to go slower then normal and the gusty winds also threw him off. I think only having one main down made him yaw on landing. That's my SWAG

  • At least he doesn't sensationalize his service and lie and claim he was in a theater of combat when and where he really wasn't, to glorify himself as a hero like John Kerry did. At least he wasn't evading service by going to foreign countries while burning draft cards, apparently like Bill Clinton did.

  • The facts and the testimonies of others, shows that John Kerry manipulated and fabricated the record for his own political gain. John Kerry's own documentation, contradicts his own testimony. John Kerry should have been prosecuted for slander and or perjury. Unfortunately the statue of limitations probably prevent that, I'm not sure that testifying before the committee would legally classify as perjury.

Instead of doing what is right, you support John Kerry, and criticize the people that expose what a dishonest self-serving person Kerry is. You ignore the truth, instead you try to subvert the truth by promoting hate based conspiracy theories against oil industries. The oil industries were just trying to get the truth out, something that you and Kerry don't like.

  • During testimony they portrayed Kerry as a decorated hero, yet according to Kerry's own testimony his actions were crimes. Even if Kerry's claims were true at the 1971 testimony's, then that means he misrepresented the paperwork that got him the decorations. Therefore he should be stripped of his decorations. Kerry's claims seem to be like all flag in the wind, they changed direction depending on what he thinks gives him a political advantage at the time, which is largely based on popularity.

  • As outrages and dishonest as Kerry's claims were at the testimonies, Kerry exaggerated the matter much more to the press. Apparently all for Kerry's own greed and political gain.

  • Even reservists sometimes get called in to battle. Most of the military is infrastructure/support. I think only about 1 of 7 of the soldiers that served during the Vietnam era served frontline combat.

    Sure reservists might be second stringers, but they often do fight, reservists did fight in Vietnam in the Gulf War.

  • Apparently uncle Raymond also arranged that if Clinton did get called into service that he would be deferred to the Navy reserve. Apparently Clinton was drafted but failed to appear because allegedly the snail mail got to him too late because he was in the UK, by the time he allegedly received notice, he dodged the draft by getting a college deferment.

  • Can never figure out how the 104 flipped over...saw that clip on an old episode of Wings way back. Looks like it came to a complete stop in the net.

  • the camara is at such an angle that even though the '104 seems to be stopped, it's still sliding sideways, and as it slowed down either the net suddenly tightened or the tires cought on somthing, and it high-centered. Shit soup, those flat spins in the F-4 r dangerous!

  • It did slide sideways for a considerable distance I think might have completely stopped. For some reason the throttle still seem to be wide open, I do not know if it was part of the test or if the pilot forgot to do a shutdown. He may have been concerned about getting hit by the fuel tankand forgot about the throttle.

  • Doesn't really matter what Bush flew, it just struck me as funny that this might have been an example of Bush's abilities. The plane in the montage is an F 104 Starfighter. Not sure Bush could handle this hot little fighter.

  • Like flyboyII the plane had a high center of gravity and the arrestor gear/net was jammed into gear, it looks like after the plane change direction that the force on the gear was mainly only on one side. It looks like a got a little bit of a running start after reversing directions and about the same time it ran off the edge of the runway the arrestor gear snagged on one side of the landing gear. It looks like it was a combination of several factors.

  • All those are ripped from a VHS released in the early 90's, "the challenge of flight".

  • I don't think so. I think the tapes I have, I had were before "the challenge of flight" tapes were released. I think the "the challenge of flight" videos were released after the government lower it's standers on the freedom of information act. I think I got mine just before the government lowered its standards.
