  • I love that Achilles mentioned "I wouldn't bother with the shield". The river styx "held by his heel" story never appeared in any of Homer's works. It's likely that it was invented afterward.

  • Is their no one else? Fucking Damn right their isn't

  • I have a headache.

  • what was this guy thinking lol

  • Is there no one else!?

  • egh, I much prefer James Horner's tracks to the original rejected ones :/ .... these ones almost kill the movie for me xD

  • BOOOOOOOAAAAAAGRIIIIIUUUUUUSSSS!!!!

  • It's elijah wood ten years ago

  • @Dudewheresmybars No it isn't this movie came out a year after the final Lord of the Rings movie genius.

  • @SurfaceCollison I'm fully aware of that, I was just kidding. But I was referring to Elijah Woods in Huckleberry Finn, not Lord of the Rings

  • @chataupiano Ah.

  • another version at "The Legend Of Awesomest Maximus" !!!

  • at :35 it almost sounds like he says Hercules

  • @1steelersrock i was thinking that too :)!

  • lol i luv how he's like its there no1 else? he's like i came all the way here 4 1 man???

  • I prefer this version...

  • Much better score than what was in the movie.

  • BOOOOAAAAAAAAGRIIIIIIIIIIUS

  • theres a sense of urgency not felt in the original

  • "Imagine a a king that fight is own wars... Wouldn't that be a sight?"

    Ha Ha Ha

  • I always thought it was belagrius...idiot

  • shouldnt the giant have body armour?

  • The boy is beautiful - exactly the kind of eromenos the Greeks loved in those days.

  • I hardly believe the boy is a boy...

  • lÔl_ãñyÖNÊ_wÄÑÑã_chãt_wÌth_mÈ_Î_féël_so_lÒNÈlY_tôÐãY═

  • Not rejected...It was in the Movie troy at the beginning tyvm :D

  • @Reapz141 the SOUNDTRACK was rejected. As was the one written to replace it. Tested poorly with the audiences.

  • sounds cheesy... good thing they rejected it

  • So much better with the Yared cheese.

  • if i'd wake up with 2 hot naked girls i'd kill 10 Boagrius's (...with a gun)

  • Man, if Achilles were alive now, who knows what he would've done in the Olympics!

  • The Iliad book is better cuz its the original story of the Trojan war. |:|

  • Boagrius, typical celt. Torque, massive and taller than the Greeks, s'all good.

  • @jobe5514 Don't compare this bald pig to the Celts, man. Thx.

  • He killed Boagrius with a hangover lmao !

  • This score is too old fashioned, glad it got rejected.

  • It's fascinating how a different score can COMPLETELY change the way we percieve the movie!

  • Wow, that movie would have sucked only half as bad with this kick-ass score...

  • the film sucked? what kind of movies do you like faggot

  • So they had good steroids in those times

  • I wouldn't be bothering with the shield then, would I?

  • BOAGRIUS!...ACHILLES!!! .."hes doing his porno scene one second."

  • @gh3master69 hahah lol XD

  • HOW did this get rejected? It sounds like classic Hollywood...I mean, I liked Horner's soundtrack well enough, but this is so much better! Apparently, though, it sounded too "old-fashioned" to the test screening. Bunch of fools.

  • I want this soundtrack in the movie, is 10 times better than Horner's (always copying himself with "barabara...").

  • fantastic film - but i think William Wallace and his hefty claymore would have given Achilles a run for his money - and if the Trojans had have to have faced the longbows or [ warbows ] of a medieval assault they would have been hoisting up their skirts and running back to their boats

  • greeks have pesian sheilds

  • I am Happy This Was rejected....

The Music Sounds like Superman or Spiderman Theme!! not to the Heroic Achilles Standards

  • hahaha poor kid

  • I cannot be the only one here who thinks that Giant would look perfect as Kratos?

Heck, they could use the same costume, just put on the white skin paint, and paint on the red tattoos.

  • @meathead320 Nathan jones? yeah, he have partecipated at many film but never as the main chart, i guess cuz for his role as the gigantic villans, someone should give him a try, or maybe Bill goldberg for Kratos

  • yeah, i can kind of understand why this score was rejected. although the fact that they fired the dude on the spot, without giving him a chance to fix it after he worked on it for a year is pretty wrong.

  • How perfect would it be if at, 2:45 brad pit turned around and was like " Perhaps you should suck my dick!"

  • thats so epic how Agamemnon is like ACHILLES!!!!

  • If I use many of your posts as basis of logic, one could then say that Jesus is a myth. The people who wrote the Bible never saw Jesus. There is no other historical text that refers to him. He is only present in the Bible, which any educated person would know is a collection of stories passed down orally. If you think that the Illiad is not proof, then you cannot take the Bible as proof either. They are both a collection of stories.

  • @bondproof2 Exactly, the Bible proves absolutely nothing...

  • that was fast...

  • Quite possibly the sickest scene of any movie.. ever.

  • طرووووووادة .. أشششششهد انك شننننب هههههه

  • 2:10. I love when he tells that kid "THAT'S WHY NO ONE WILL REMEMBER YOUR NAME."

  • @tcrack13 thats one of the best quotes of the movie man, that and "IS THERE NO ONE ELSE!"

  • @tcrack13

  • @tcrack13

That boy sure looks CUTE, doesn't he? >: D

  • @tcrack13 That part has a lot of meaning in this movie

  • @tcrack13 I love when the boy says "they say you cant be killed" and Achilles says " I wouldnt be bothering with the shild then would I "

  • achilles is my hero XP

  • i dont remember music playing on this

  • I don't know if my the thing I'm going to say is good or bad but I really prefer much more the sscore from Gabriel Yared

  • rofl, a very good dream XD

  • great soundtrack^^

  • I Like this movie

  • I am pretty sure its a myth, I mean wasnt achilles supposed to have travelled to the underworld, bathed in the styx and survived? according to the illiad, a man only has one spot in which he is week, otherwise he/she is unvolnorable, if you survive the bathe ;)

  • Alexander visited a tomb that was thought to be Achilles and took the shield. Whether or not is really was Achilles' is of personal preference. Personally I think he's a myth, but nobody can ever be certain.

  • well if Achilles if found to have existed then he would be considered to be the greatest warrior ever

  • "... That's why no one will ever know your name..."

So strong, and to such a young kid

  • King: "ACHILLES!'

Some guy: "HES NOT HERE LOL"

    King: "FIND HIM OMFG"

  • thats why no one will remember ur name! B)

  • that giant is a noob, he didn't even raise his shield lol

  • @exeperry then maybe you should realise that is a movie and if it were real then mostly everyone would die after their second or third kill.

  • who said alexander used achilles' shield ?

  • Alexander the great used achilles shield

  • you idiot.

    1) Alexander lived long past Achilies. (homer lived 8th c bc and alexander 356323 bc)

    2) Achilies is a myth as a whole poem. (it was like cinema now days just without a changing pictures)

    3) Achilies shield was special. It had various hieroglyphs paints of the world on it.

  • Fuck you I watched a video in Social studies is said Alexander gave a gift to achilles at his tomb and took his sield

  • Achilies is a MYTH ! google it.

  • u idiot...they found the ruins of troy

  • LEARN TO READ stupid kid. go to library and read illiad by homer fucking moron. its a poem about odyyseus and his adventures... and stupid achilies and etc... its not real because it has gods in it.. unreal adventures and everething else... fucking kid. santa isnt real too. now go to your mama and cry.

  • @StanLTU sorry to intrude, stan, but the Illiad is not a "poem about Odysseus and his adventures..." because that poem is called the Odyssey. (Odysseus....Odyssey...get it?) YOU should read the Illiad, LOL. You would know what I'm talking about then...You are right about Achilles being in the Illiad, but I'm sure you only know that because of the movie. They also found Troy in Turkey as well but as any story goes, most of the Illiad is embellished.

  • Lol I watched that same fucking video :)

  • @StanLTU .

Myth does NOT mean NOT REAL! Myth means UNPROVEN! Many many myths have proven to be fact while many many others have proven not to be. For the moment there is SOME proof that Achilles may have been a real person. Through a study of writings found in the ruins of Troy there are records and it seems that there could have been a person by that name... However there is no way to prove that he was or wasn't a real person or that he was or wasn't partly invincible...

  • have you read illiad ?

  • Should we get the guys from MYthbusters to prove it?

  • @hawk77y sure why not lol i want to see how much truth a myth actually has

  • @StanLTU nah alexander had his sheild they found troy is modern day turkey

  • @StanLTU this comment is so wrong in so many ways LOLOLOL

  • sounds like a disney movie now. glad it was trashed.

  • agreed. horner's score is far better and more subtle than this alex north spartacus sounding crap

  • @requiemaeternam7 alex north`s music was great!!!

  • @aus1121 Why?

  • I can understand why Peterson called this score "old-fashioned". It makes me think of the old 1950s/60s epics, rather than a contemporary feel. It has too much energy. It would be better suited for a silent film.

  • @MOTHMAN225: What's wrong with a lot of energy?

Contemporary feel = the arse end of film composition.

This is nostalgic of a time where great, highly disciplined film scores were written for little money, at a fast food rate.

  • BRAD PITT JE T'aime beaucoup t'est trop genial bisou brad beau gosss angie joli a un vrai beau mari

  • anyone remember Colossus of Boggo Road??

  • i remember Colossus shittas inmepantas one night when i was drunk :)

  • Owned! xD

"That's why nobody will remember your name.."

  • The boy is Frodo?

  • better without

  • 3:54 Now that's what you call Epic Pwng. Booyah!

  • rejected score my ass what was different?

  • oh snap! that kid got told.

thats why no one will remeber your name...

i thought after he could of said

thats why no one will remeber your name, bitch! or pussy!

  • NATHAN JONES THE BOSS HAHAHAHA

  • Fuck boagrius is a huge cunt

  • Shoulda just had Julian Glover kick the other guy's ass in the start and wouldn't have needed Achilles vs Boagrius.

  • Poor Boagrius. Kind of unfair too. Achilles is a demigod!

  • Troy's music sucked. Too much melodrama for a war movie.

  • bad ass

  • I prefer the other score.

It created a more brooding atmosphere which seemed more appropriate.

  • Awesome music. Why was it rejected?

  • y did this guy add dum music ?

  • The bigger you are the harder you fall mate !!!

  • Hmm i dont think so....most times technique and big body you hardly fell...!Just the body is not so secuse, but the combination of 2 of them is the ultimate!!

  • thank god this didn't make it to the final cut

  • I love achilles' attitude...."He is not my king" ....I love that line. "Thats why noone will rmr your name" awesome!

  • cheeeesy score

  • Achilles was a Hero!!!

I wish there was a 30 second entry of Hercules too!!.. Hercules would have single handedly killed every human alive

  • Is sending a kid to do such an important task a wise move?

  • I am torn. While the original score is by far the more superior, it clashes too much with the scene to the point of being a distraction. I see why they removed the score, but why not let the composer adjust it instead?

  • Boagrius is simply a beast...

  • @ Aris

Yeah, he is a giant. Thats Nathan Jones. Hes freaking crazy.,...whatch that movie Ong Bak....hes crazy swole in that movie too!

  • I would really like to see what Brad Pitt would do if they fought unarmed... Lol...

  • This scene is better with music. I wonder why they cut it out.

  • ok all these comments down here saying achilles is real and one of the greatest fighters ever to live....... don't make me laugh. Were you there? What proof do you have? any verified historical texts? Didn't..fucking..think so.

  • if you dont know....dont speak boy...

  • lol..ok, and why did you waste your time typing nonsense to me? Do you know? It seems like you just wanted me to shut up. Wow. read my comment..ok? Then read yours. Ok? Now compare our comments. Funny right? We're saying the same thing. hilarious ne?

  • @ultimategoobah you cant really say that he isnt real because you were not there either

  • good thing I didn't say that then.

  • Wow......Horners is incredibly better, Wolfgang did the right thing for this scene.

  • i agree. the director did a great job with the final version. this score gives the movie an old, corny feeling

  • The problem with this score is it's too conventional. The Big, Bad Champion is given big, bad guy tones, the Hero is given the heroic trumpet blasts. Achilles isn't a normal hero, he's other-worldly. No one is wondering if Brad Pitt will win five minutes into the film, and the score treats it as the final battle of the film. It dispels any tension to be had in the scene. The real tension is in HOW Achilles will win, and we're left wondering until he strikes. Horner's silence keeps that mystery.

  • I agree the score here feels clumsy and really could come from any movie, it just doesn't have a homeric feel to it.

  • I am indifferent on the scores

  • I wish they kept this score. It has a better sense of fun and is in keeping with the old fashioned, campy style of the movie.

James Horner's score was rushed and not very enjoyable.

  • Did you put music in this video?

  • the more i listen to gabriel yared's score, ithe more i see now that the reason people think it doesn't fit the film is because the score is better than the film. it reminds me of ben-hur in it's orchestral power and it's sheer beauty. if the film was up to ben-hur's caliber, the score would be perfect. But, the film is clearly not and james horner's score fits the film and matches the quality of the film itself.

  • 0:16 - "NATHANNN JONESSS!!!"

  • An awful score indeed. The end result is much better.

  • All of you are retarded if you don't understand how myths work and he wasn't immortal in the Iliad. He is only immortal in some stories. He can be killed tards

  • yea..but isnt his mother a goddess in the Iliad? so..wasnt he a demi-god?

  • @absurdist366 yep. achilles was not completely immortal, he was dipped into the river styx by his mother, thetis, but she held him by his ankles so that everything from his ankles up were "immortal" but his ankles were "mortal" so he could only be killed if someone sliced him or shot his "achilles heel" (what we now call it today).

it's just a story you guys chill...

  • pwnd

  • Achilles: That's why no one will remember your name.

    Kid: :(

  • lmao.

  • chuck norris still beats him

  • ok chuck norris is overrated first of all. secondly, accordingly to greek mythology, it took a arrow uided by the god apollo to bring him down

  • chuck norris is a faggot lyoto machida whooped his ass in a karate match lol lyoto would kill him in a fight

  • whats with the added music?

  • Read the description.

  • sounds good but doesnt match the mood of the story

  • i am admired by this movie and really bradbit is tallented we hope to see u in egypt brad

  • Awful soundtrack...

  • Good soundtrack.

  • owned.

  • odusseus is the best

  • achilles vs that one spartan dude that would be an epic battle :D

  • Comment removed

  • Spartacus was a man that lead a gladiator uprising and was crushed by Caesar.

  • it wasnt by caesar it was by (i dont know his first name its like crasses)maximuss

  • Yeap you're right, it was Marcus Licinius Crassus.

  • achilles was real u retard, the myth was that he was invulnerable and all that added stuff, he was still one of the best fighters to have ever lived so get ur shit straight

  • rofl so he only died by the ankle? rofl i dont think so Achilles is a myth

  • I think there's a rumour the arrow might have been poison.

  • thats a myth the invurnable except the tendon where a goddes holded him from this river in the underworld which made him invurnable but he was the greatess fighter the fastess runner achilles was real its just since nobody could beat him they said he had godlike powers

  • dude hes real , his mom wa a single mother and was asking the gods for protection they told he to dip achilles in a river . when she did she held him by the ankle and dunked him because she covered his ankle with he hand his ankle didnt get god like powers therefor it was his only weakness....... of coarse thats a myth that was made up because he was the best fighter ever known , they had to come up with a reason why he died form an arrow to the ankle its too ironic

  • Achilles is a historical person you retard... he fought so bravely that his name is still alive today... back then, when the people couldn't explain something they gave godlike explanations... that's why you think he did not existed....

  • There's no proof that Achilles ever existed. He exists in the same way the myth of King Arthur exists - in stories, handed down and told and expanded on by many different authors. That's how legends work.

He may have existed, but there's absolutely no proof that he definitely existed, in the way we can say that King Leonidas or Julius Caesar existed.

  • Well, THE BATTLE OF TROY happened in what is now TURKEY. I took Art history, and they recent discovered it....soooo, if there was a battle of troy there must of been an Achilles, since he had a big role in bringing down the walls....and getting his arse handed by Paris. :)

  • So your theory is that Troy existed, so the battle must have? Logic fail.

Yes, I took art history too - and classical studies. I also took Logic 101, which you clearly didn't, judging by your argument.

Yes, Troy WAS in Turkey. *clap* But just because a city called Troy existed, and a trade war was possibly fought there, does not mean that Achilles existed. He is a mythological character.

The Trojan War is a legend, and a damn awesome one at that. But there is no proof of Achilles' existence.
