  • The man had more stories then the news at ten. RIP.

  • my hero. RIP man.

  • it would havebeen interesting to see what the clash would have been like if they got back together... looking at bauhaus they wee just as good and made a really great album... but im sorta glad they didn.. Ithink Joe was going fine with the mescaleroes... he doesn need an award to tell him how great his music was he already knew and so should every one else..

  • I'm glad that Joe was proud of being inducted into the Hall of Fame. At first I wondered why he would accept it and not refuse to attend (as the Sex Pistols would later do) but then I thought, "what's wrong with being proud of receiving recognition for many years of hard work, in one of the most influential bands of all time?" Joe and The Clash were never jerks for the sake of being jerks, and you know what -- there's nothing wrong with being genuine and happy for receiving an award! RIP Joe.

  • No Band in History Compares to THE CLASH !!!!

  • I wish he had done like John Lydon and REFUSE to be part of this institution but... Whatever. They proved what they had to prove 30 years ago anyway. I still like their songs no matter what. A great band. That's all.

  • This place is not enough for Joe, the time will show what Joe Strummer means not only in music but also in history.

  • Although I think it was a good thing for him to know The Clash was inducted into the Hall I also think he didn't need it. ;D LIVE FOREVER JOE

  • This has made me a very happy person, to see that he died knowing he was appreciated as one of the greats of rock and roll :D RIP JOE

  • Its gotta be said, Strummer is God, no argument. But there was no Clash without Mick Jones. Greatest Punk leads ever.

  • The ONLY Band That Matters...

  • still !!!!!

  • whether the clash got inducted into the hall of fame or not they're still a great group. the hall of fame does'nt mean anything really. corporation sucks!!!!

  • The right place for a great person!

  • Man, this is like inducting jesus into the rnr hall of fame

  • It just breaks my heart to know that Joe passed away so soon after this was filmed. :*(

  • screw mtv for not ever playing these vidoes when they were actually current. Stinking right-wing piece of garbage mtv dillloads. Saw teh Clash in Seattle open for the Who. It was better when they were on their own in Vancouver BC. Didnt know their music well enough, and the mosh pit was nuts, but it was cool.

  • fuck mtv for not ever playing these vidoes when they were actually current. Stinking right-wing piece of shit mtv fucktwats.

  • God, we all got so CHEATED...it's beyond heartbreaking to think we were so close to a real honest to goodness Clash reunion only to have it snatched away from us in such a cruel manner. I was lucky to have seen the Clash at their peak (aka pre-Combat Rock) and my sympathies for those of you who missed your chance.

  • WOW! that's just a rehearsal :D R.I.P Joe.

  • This video of London's Burning appeared (audio only) as the b-side to Remote Control. There are 2 takes each of LB and WR from this April 1977 video shoot and the audio is widely available from the usual non-MSM sources.

  • MTV censored London's Burning...

  • rock n roll hall of shame he should have refused like the pistols did .rnr fame is a joke eho they let in ABBA,JIMMY CLIFF,MADONNA GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE

  • @dacritter dont you dare knock jimmy cliff- cliff was an inspiration of the clash! hes a rock reggae legend!!

  • 3:05 If ever I'm in London I'm renting scuba gear

  • cant think of any1 apart from Lennon who i luv seein in that R&R hall of fame

  • When The Clash got voted in, (I believe) an MTV producer informed him on film. The guy was standing up, Joe was sitting down. Joe was stunned, and wasn't sure it was true. He said something like "I thought The Police would get in" and the guy said "They're going in too" and Joe was just...dazed. I have not been able to find this clip anywhere on the web. Does anyone know how to locate it? I would love to see it again. RIP Joe.

  • @jzart

"I would love to see it again" Does this mean have seen it before? If so when, where (TV, DVD, etc.), and how?

  • i cant believe it, (if my maths is correct) Joe was dead 1month and 17days after this video was shot, he looks fit as he always has.

    RIP JOE

  • @BenHughesLlan post-mortem say his arteries was smaller than it was supposed to...said kinda birth defect none of his parents lived to a ripe old age so what's the point of having worked so hard. His mother died first then his dad departed this earth in 85-86...Have to remember Joe schmoked a lot of roll(ed)uphomemadefunny cigarettes but declined drinks I think...he also was human-dynamo that can't be good for you...R,i.P.

  • Joe strummer was such an amazing songwriter... His lyrics really are poetry, and Im not being over dramatic or sentimental. Read the lyrics to the song "Straight to Hell"

without the music. To those saying they're not talented; they really are. The way they played live was like that because that's how it was meant to be; it was punk.

  • @ruttman15 some gigs ok first time I saw them awful PA awful punks knifing each other...the next time was better but JONES had departed (well..er...whose version did you listen to...1980 with MICKEY GALLAGHER at their height with excellent live sound...trawl the tube for good clips.

  • they wanted to inducted Sex Pistols into the RNRHOF but Johnny Rotten refused

  • they were inducted

  • @funlivelife there in the HOF but the pistols didnt go becasue they though it was a "piss stain"

  • @sbritt1994 I agree with you...

  • @funlivelife YES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES I wish I remembered what he said...this guy's funny...

  • A Legend

  • yea but punk is so cool because you dont need talent

  • Comment removed

  • they didnt have talent, they had fucking soul.

  • Comment removed

  • well yeah soul and imagination sometimes is more important than talent.

  • they had both

  • Thank god he lived to see himself be inducted into the RNR hall of fame, took them long enough =P
