SALUDOS.....

  • I wonder if you can show us details on how to build it ?

  • OMG this is amazing! i worked only pro engeneer and compar it to this its nothink!

  • hey do you have a web where i can see the file o something like that where new users can learn more about catia????????????

  • your using Catia for rendering? Catia is used for engineering design, not product design...try SolidWorks

  • catia and solidworks have volume and surface area...and cool stuff like that 3d max should have that....but it doesn't.......bugger how you make something in solidworks .....but i can make stuff in 3d max...

  • any reason for using windows 98?

  • astuceslogiciels.doomby.com

  • jajaaj, this is only for CATIA users!!!!

    Dont waste our time G.D.

  • VERY EASY

  • is posible to export from catia to 3dmax

  • ms paint ftw XD

  • @TheID3000 agree 100%! lol

  • Learning it on your own is very possible as i did it. I find Catia V5 user friendly. I admit it takes some getting used to and a lot of head scratching moments but once you get used tot he interface before you know it your making complex models. I had around 4 useless tutorials over 3 years of uni 99% of stuff I know now is down to me teaching myself. It is a complex beast but it is possible to teach yourself 90% of the stuff you need just takes effort

  • @TomArto8 That depends- there's a really very very good book by an author called Sham Tickoo called CATIA V5R16 for Designers and it covers the ground work for part design, assembly design and management, drafting, and generative shape design n (or wireframe).

It's actually a very easy to follow book and once you understand the principles you'll be making simple assemblies within weeks. Beyond that you can explore other aspects of the package.

  • we use this at school

  • @hites05

    try u Torrent 2.0

  • @CADtekk

Inventor is not stable, does not manage large assemblies very well and is not intuitive, especially when compared to SolidWorks. And don't get me started on their ProductStream vault! (we called it ProductScream).

  • can i download this software for free? or even a trial version? i want to learn CATIA, i know i can do this in self learning 'cause i have full knowledge in AutoCAD 3D... anybody please help me to find free download software of CATIA... even Trial version only and after the expiration i will purchase it.

  • @fox6386 Learn on your own is impossible. CATIA is terrible complicated, they never heard about user-friendly software at Dassault. And I very much doubt you will it purchase after ... ask a quotation first and you will know why ... You should learn Siemens NX, it is at the same level of CATIA, but they invested a lot in user-friendlyness and stability in version 6.0, 7.0 and now 7.5.

  • if you wanna make some geometries easily ( and even meshing and FEA input decks), i would recommmand ls-prepost 3.0 which is free and very performant.

  • hey hey, never desgin a car without CAVA, the car later on has to fulfil legal compliance so check CAVA out.

  • No music?

  • to me is almost free

  • everyone knows u can get anything for free these days. The problem is that CATIA is a very complex software. While u may learn to draw and build a geometry such as that, u will rarely find any well explained documentation on how to perform real industrial tests and functions. The reason you pay for the package is because you get a certified training from Dassault. Having learned most PLM software by myself, I can say CATIA is one of the most confusing ones and powerful like Unigraphics NX.

  • @hugostv Agree with you on this one, I rave about CATIA because it takes a lot of thinking and guesswork out of the designing BUT the interface can be seen as more complex/confusing. I find that because packages like this are made by mathematicians and not 'human beings' the messages you get hardly make any sense.. coupled together with the fact that it is French and all those dialogues and commands are written with a French context it takes a while to understand what CATIA wants you to do..

  • That's true. I wasn't trying to blame CATIA for its non-user friendliness. My point was to make other people understand that this is a serious software and it's not like 3ds max where u can get tons of tutorials and how-to's, you actually will be driven away from learning this software because it is very complex (not hard, but complex)

I also wanted to pointed out that I still dont understand why NX doesn't get so much recognition as CATIA, it's very similar in capabilities and looks neater.

  • @TheSaintST1 hah yeah man, CATIA is a monster of her own. After using it for 4 years in school you just lean to accept she has a mind of her own

  • 10.000 $ Then its free for u

  • that much?

  • No man....

  • not the displaying will shows how good a program... if those nurbs are xact in catia, probably it works better... and for work really not necessary photorelistic rendering, which one need only for the end... and i'm not sure about 5min designed cars, are really ready for production... for the "cars" animation movie they are perfect... but in a manufacturing plant like carmanufacturer... they might need more like ashiny empty model...

  • this is nurbs, not mesh... it's for design process and manufacturing purposes not only for visualizas. U have no working nurbs solution in max, and surely u are not product designer, so the lack of such specific knowledge is understandable =)

  • So it takes you twice the amount of time?

  • Theres a little diference between 3d Max and Catia. Catia is used in aerospace industry, automotive, shipbuilding, and other important industries around the world. Catia IS NOT A RENDER SOFTWARE, CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) is a multi-platform CAD/CAM/CAE commercial software suite developed by the French company Dassault Systemes.

  • Catia has a fully functional photorendering package.

  • @poderosov8 Exactly

Max is for making renders that looks like real life (if you want)

Catia is for designing and making the real things

  • @c0pi

    thanks man, byezzz!

  • @poderosov8

3ds max isnt render software either. Its a 3D animation package.

Both can not be compared, unles you wanna talk about modeling with nurbs in 3ds max (which are a nightmare to use)

  • @Capeau

Dear Capeau, 3D Studio MAX, is a modeling, animation and "RENDERING" package, your answer is partially true.

Now, I´m modeling with CATIA V5 and rendering with 3dD Max (I have the appropiate NPower translator)

    Greetings.

  • @poderosov8

yes and thats called a 3danimation package

I think i know more about it then you do, kid

  • @Capeau

Christophe, Are u a graphic Designer?

  • @poderosov8

Amongst a few other things... Worked on a few games also, I also do some archviz etc... But my education was graphic design, yes.

Not that that matters in this discussion.

  • @Capeau

    Have you ever used CATIA?

  • @poderosov8

whats has that to do with me knowing about rendering and if 3ds max is an animation package. stop wasting my and your time with stupid questions pls. if you cant handle being wrong on the internet, thats yr problem.

  • @poderosov8

What has that to do with this? It has nothing to do with 3ds max being an 3d animation package...

If you cant handle being wrong on the internet, thats your problem. Dont waste my time with stupid questions.

  • Comment removed

  • @Capeau

Cristophe: 3D max is not a "3D animation package" at all... and you start that conversation, so.... "dont waste my time with stupid questions" its for me too.

  • @poderosov8 what should i do after autocad 2d that would help me in future like catia, pro e, 3d max etc

  • @stharm88 in my case, I start directly with CATIA V5, logically a mechanical/aeronautic engineer was my teacher; but, in your case you should start with Google SketchUp, its very simple to use, and the most important, its for beginners. Bye!

  • awesome ,very good.

  • Visit CATIA*IN

  • Good !

  • i worked with Auto Cad and Catia and for me Catia is much, much better.

  • super.....................nice

  • can u

  • umm...

  • no sound express i cano't hear

  • tricky program to use. can be full of geometric errors but otherwise quite easy if you know how to

  • not good! there are better vids, explaining the idea of gsd and freeform...

  • is this meant to be funny or something, because i don't get it.

  • hahaha.. ur comment is funny enuf... its a designing software" catia" .. not for ur daily dose f laugh

  • I`m going to download this shit :P

  • Can anyone tell me why i cannot generate transition paths in 5ax machining? I have AM2 license but i always get the same error (Not a generic machine)???

  • €85 solid works

  • Planes, Trains, and Automobiles are for Catia. FUCK PRO E, GO WITH SWX FOR EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!

  • yes but there is solidworks which is great

  • wow budy that was great... keep it up.. catia is wonderful software,,,,

  • OK! this looks awesome, but how come CATIA is not as Popular as Autdesk like Autocad and Inventor and those other software out there?

  • Popularity isn't saying anything about the qualities of a software. Windows is the most widespread OS despite being one of the worst. Popularity has a lot of factors and thus can't always be easily explained.

Another example is mp3. It is quite old, burdened with proprietary parts and doesn't deliver the best quality for the byte, yet it is still the most popular music format in use, despite better codecs are around that are really free.

  • Catia costs a fortune to buy and use legally

  • Inventor is crapiest 3D software ever made!

  • Have you ever tried SDRC-Ideas? Now that is shite!

    Inventor is just very basic.

As a preference I would use SolidWorks for machinery, robots, modular design, mechanisms.

    For automotive/aerospace I prefer Catia V4 (that's right - OLD non-parametric Catia) as I've always found V5 awkward and non-intuitive.

In its day (yearr 2000) Pro/E was the best parametric system - not any more but it still has some great features that the others haven't got - regen to tolerance limits stands out.

  • if i take CAD will this help me out in being a game designer

  • I honestly think you'd be wasting your time trying to learn AutoCAD with a goal of being a game designer. Just my opinion.

  • well, you might look it at this way. CAD might help you only in the part modeling, but the game design is much more than modeling.

  • As a Catia user for 10 years I was embarrassed for you having this on the net. You showcase exaclty how not to use the tool with all of those planes, point to point curves and patch surfaces.

Try learning how to use a slab surface methodology.

  • could you please send me the drawing, iam trying to put a system refrigeration in a car, for to extinguis the fire of the car.

  • can you tell me where can i find this program to download?

  • You have to buy it from them. It's $5000 bucks per registration for companies. I don't know what it is for personal use.

I got the older versions for free from my company. I use Suite 2009 at work.

  • Actually, basic versions are more in the 15 000$/year range. A full version with all modules, including class A surfaces, FEA, enovia, etc. is about 120 000$/year.

CATIA is mostly used by car and airplane manufactuerrs. I would suggest SolidWorks for less experienced (or rich) people.

  • NOPE!

  • CATIA

  • whats this program called?

  • i am not cad pro but i can say this is very awsome program

  • "Home" version of Catia? What is that - the one that you *stole* on the internet?

Catia and Unigraphics are the 2 best (as in, highest end) CAD systems on the planet, bar none.

This is a simple automobile. It was quite possibly done using nothing more than a wireframe skeleton and simple surfacing. (in GSD)

  • awesome

  • sorry it's me again ... don't get me wrong the car is awsome!

I just dont like catia home version

  • what the fu.... I've worked in catia but no its not best ... it is if you are the nasa or bombardier or boeing with the full 1.5 milions $ version with the server that goes with it... as far as the home version goes your better of with somehing like solid works or inventor . plus the rendering is so so ....

  • i think so it coud be freestyle shaper..with Aut.Class A..surfaces

  • i believe u can do that in the Automotive Class A workbench

  • wat workbench is he using?????

  • Dude I meant the "workbench in CATIA" which he used to create the mesh hes using to morph those surfaces. The workbench seems to be the 'Generative Shape Design' but I think hes using something else also.

  • This is Catia, do you never heard about it?

It is one of the best CAD 3D existent. Its direct competitors are ProE and Unigraphics

  • I would like to know which workbench are you using. Is this the way to design in the actual industry. Looks pretty awesome

  • very nice : question how did you activate tools icon , to play or recontruction.! slmlar

  • nice
