  • awsome i want to fly too

  • Amazing! Thanks for sharing...wish more people would upload and share cockpit videos.

  • The 747 is the loudest plane I've ever been on personally. It sounded like the plane was going to explode lol. This was a Lufthansa flight from SFO. It was loud man.

  • Make mine Pratt & Whitney!

  • @0:29 I thought that was rotation....phew>>>

  • like the sound from take off thrust to climb thrust!

  • man those engines are music to my ears :P very nice takeoff i like it

  • Rolls Royce and Boeing 747 like McDonald's and coke. The simple joy of being made for each other! lol

  • V1....ROTATE!!! I'll never be bored listening to this !!

  • so many buttons O.o but i miss chicago

  • what airlines is this

  • @phatcarz British Airways

  • Speedbird 294 Chicagodeparture radar contact, cleared climb to flightlevel 120.

  • ur....1 question do this pilots get nervous?

  • what airline they sound forein?

  • @RHCP9181 British Airways

  • @MrDarryl09 What is that aka Speedbird right?

  • @RHCP9181 yep

  • @MrDarryl09 nice nice

  • @RHCP9181 are you not ENGLIAS THEN...

  • @arsenalfeet sure

  • This is so sweet i can't wait to become a pilot some day with requires heck of alot of work. =)

  • Notice at "V1" the captain does not have the yoke centered (even though they are still on the ground), possibly for a crosswind departure.

  • how do u get to go in the cockpit?

  • @trainlova12 one of the officer's are in the jumpseat. There can never be a passenger inside the cockpit during a flight except if they have landed already and parked.

  • amazing... never saw that..

  • i thought it was prohibited to use cameras during takeoff and landing??

  • @aabbii93here it can be but not realy now

  • @massivepoobart ohh aviation these days lol

  • Comment removed

  • Love the noise of RB211's

  • why the yoke is turned to the side? while still rolling on the ground?(when the pilot say"V1"), because crosswind?

  • I bet you were tempted to pull the throttles back when the pilots weren't looking! You would have been in so much trouble!

  • Takeoff sucks I can handle flying at cruising altitude but hate flying with nose up...

  • 747-200 from KLM???

  • @esh1 747-400, and secondly those silver epaulettes and british accents lead me to believe that this is british airways

  • type normally you prick.. dis n dat.. bet you have a cap on sideways aswell

  • wot dis shit? dis fucking airbus a388 fer tru cos dem sound lik one airbus no one fucking boing o som shit? n dem fucking fagots in da back dey wan be fucked by da niggers on da plan fucking america fagots fer tru halal praise praise

  • @faroolabjalmak Goddamit, so many spelling errors!

  • @faroolabjalmak ENGLISH, MOTHERFUCKER! DO YOU SPEAK IT?!

  • @snoopyloopy you got that from the boondocks lol

  • @trdaredevilclips actually i got it from pulp fiction. which is where the boondocks got it.

  • Sounds more like a 757 than a 747. Just from other videos I have seen thats all. Just my opinion..

  • Look at the 4 thrust levers. Thats because there are 4 engines. How many engines does a 757 have?

  • @Azzieman Are you just saying it sounds like a 757, or do you think it is a 757?

  • @PilotUTA Sounds like a 757...

  • Who the hell is taking the video, and if it's the flight engineer, what the hell isn't he doing his job....

  • Flight Engineer? On the 747-400? Not an aviation man are you....

  • Why don't you answer my question, Smart-ass...

  • There are two spare seats behind the pilots called jumpseats - on the 747-400 there is no Flight Engineer.

  • I was under the impression that both pilots were required to advance the throttle on take-off.

  • Certainly BA because there are quite few 744's that do operate to ORD like i haven't seen many besides United,AIr India,Korean Air and some other cargo carriers to ORD bringing in 744's rest i don't know because mostly the cross Atlantic flights come in with a330's or 777's to ORD.

  • @glasswings21 Either BA or ~Virgin Atlantic as the pilots have overwhelming strong British accents.

  • Well then definitely BA because i have been using Virgin Atlantic on ORD to Heathrow route and they are only using the Airbus a340-300's from the very first day they started the service again from chicago to london.

  • @sgtmact It's BA. I can recognise it by the engine displays in the cockpit as well as the engine sounds.

  • @LTU932 Thanks. A question: Why are the displays flickering slightly as when I was allowed on the flight deck of a 744 they weren't flickering.

  • @sgtmact It's got to do with the screen refresh rate. I'm guessing the screens are CRT, so the flicker may not be noticeable to the naked eye. It will appear when recorded on a camera though.

  • This effect appears on all old-fashioned TV screens, which many older jets still use. It's caused by a 24 frame-per-second refreshment rate, as LTU says. Modern LCD uses roughly 60fps; while most cameras record at 30fps. This means the camera will pick up the lower speed of refreshment (which our eyes don't) while LCDs are seen as the naked eye would see.

    Simple, really.

  • best job in the world

  • those engines sound nice

  • Certainly Speedbird (BA), Rolls Royce RB211-524

  • does it souds like GE ?

  • British Airways I think?

  • united airlines?

  • amazing

  • yea how do u get to use ur electronic device and get to go in the cockpit????

  • recording devices are ok. using devices that send out radio frequencies are prohibited because they might interfere with the avionics.

  • Doing my PPL, and i'm allowed to take my phone up... it still works lol :)

  • well on aer lingus i wasnt and i was in row1. i was in premier from dublin-chicago

  • how do you manage to get in the cockpit everytime

  • He is probably a real pilot (FFA Required to be in cockpit) by that I mean passengers arnt supposed to gi in.... So hes probably flying for free, in the seat, I forgot waht its called but its a funny name, Like Dead Head or what ever

  • Its called a Jump seat rider.

  • Jump Seat?

  • You mean FAA

  • most airliners with international flights fly with crews of 3 people, so they can rotate in midair, or just when they fly back from destination... this manner is used by alot of airliners, in order to keep pilots under their registred flight hours...

  • Are those the Rolls Royce engines or the GE's?

  • There's only one Engine that growls like that - the RB211.

  • British Built Rolls Royce RB211-524 engines

  • so as quantas and cathway pacific

  • @speedbird007 american built boeing 747-400..

  • @houshidar558 Yes, We work well together.

  • @speedbird007 agreed, 2 countries can pitch in too make what is a 747-400 amazing engineering

  • Woooo! go Chicago!

  • nice video man

  • A 747 of BA, my favourite! Awesome view, I hope to be in that seat some day!

Great video as well, love the sound of those engines! Did you take the vid?

  • Hello

Aren't the engines awesome! I did take the video, yes.

  • Sure are! They have the best sound. Great capture, how did you get in there? Lucky :) Love it!

  • taking off from runway 32R

  • @kenster1979 Hey there, is that First Officer wearing glasses??? Because im gonna train to be a commercial airliner pilot and was wondering if ya could wear glasses. I seen this other guy on another video wearing them. So can you fill me in please? Thanks.

  • @TheHellz0r I don't believe you have to have perfect vision contrary to popular belief. I think as long as your vision is correctable to a certain standard with glasses, you are fine.

  • @Jasiek55555 Yes it's as long as your vision is correctible to 20/25 which is near perfect.

If you are color blind you can not fly any aircraft.

  • @Amtrak1194

Why are you not allowed to be a pilot if you are color blind???

    Just curious

  • @hearts76100 Your flight instruments(especially glass cockpits) work a lot with colours to alert or warn you.

  • @hearts76100 Your flight instruments(especially glass cockpits) work a lot with colours to alert or warn you.

    You can fly private do...

  • @hearts76100 You can still be a pilot if you have a MILD colour difficancy such as myself. BUT if you generally can't identify different colours easily you will struggle to become a pilot. The reason is because of the lights on the runway that tell the flight crew if they are on the glidepath for the runway on landing.

  • @kenster1979 cool video! did u have to get special FAA clearance to sit in the cockpit?
