a great aunt neice combination ( i think) who kept the old style of carnatic .a great composition in hamsanadam 'i am unable to hear about them in the recent years,
These great duo are very much in chennai. And have often visited Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba also. The y are really great n their own field. And I have been listening to them since 1959
Sure , they are legends ! But it is a sad fact that their contributions to the field of Carnatic music has not so far been awarded with Sangeetha Kalanidhi by the Music Academy, Chennai.
I agree with nthavasi. Nobody has the right to wave their finger in our face with a "be careful" threat. Such a mentality is what leads to a totalitarian state of affairs. What is the meaning of "thanks for understanding?" Understanding what? That some people are beyond criticism? Seniority, celebrity, etc is one thing, fallibility is another. Nobody is infallible. I too find the violin overbearing. That is not to say the violinist is not talented. Do these things even need to be explained?
Surely, people are entitled to their opinions. The seniority of an artiste does not immediately preclude them from sounding annoying to some. Personally, I find the violinist here alright but there are times when someone as accomplished as Lalgudi or TNK interferes with the singing.
It is so bizarre that you expect everyone to share your devotion of an artiste - an annoying imposition.
If you also noticed, the audio lags behind video...It may be that the audio dial was'nt optimally, only to be further aggravated by conversion to u-tube...
Just sit back and think about what you are being served up via internet, from the 80s
@carnatican How one wish they also EARNED a name in Carnatic music due to the inspiration and admiration of their parents for R-J sisters' music. It required channelsiing of the young ones' inborn tastes by holding them from inferior pursuits and filling their time (beyond secular education from schools) with cultural and spiritual elevation through learning of fine arts.
0:33 They hit the Tara sthayi Nishadam -- the Ni ABOVE the top Pa -- few have their range and flexibility of voice and their superb style of singing.

I think it is a technology/conversion issue

They 'semi-retired' from the main picture, and started teaching. They trained the now famous Priya Sisters
