Windows 64-bit versions CAN utilise more than 4gb of ram, it's maximum somewhere in the 10s of thousands.

Windows 32-bit can only use about 4gb ram though.

Linux and OS X use the same method for addressing more than 4GB (3.2 to be exact) of RAM. PAE allows them to *address* over 4GB of RAM. Though, no one program can allocate more than 3.2GB of RAM.

Vista now uses it's own version of PAE for 32-bit to address up to (what I believe) is 8GB of RAM, but as above, can only allocate 3.2 to itself for a single program.

Actually, windows xp x64 ad windows vista 64 can use 8 gigs of ram. 32 bit OS's can only use 4 gigs of ram whereas 64 bit OS's can use 8. So Ubuntu 64, XP 64, Vista 64, and leopard can all use 8 gig's.

Your right I bought my open pro because it was considerably cheaper than a mac and i need a computer that can perform just as well as a mac but without the price tag.

You mentioned that Microsoft would have issues with Psystar not getting Microsoft's permission to install their OS. Microsoft's OS's license EULA is not longer specified to any particular brand of hardware. You could install it on any piece of hardware you own and it would be fine as far a legal grounds go. (You probably didn't know you could boot Windows XP on your mac huh?) Psystar is going through legal battles, but if it was as black and white as you claim, it would be shut down already.

In Psystar's defense, you cannot purchase an Open Computer with Leopard without purchasing a legit copy of Leopard. The legal debate between a licensed OS and a monopolized computer has happened before. Just look at the legal action taken up with dell. It was previously illegal to have Linux on your Dell because of the EULA license. But that's now changed. I have a feeling the same will happen here. But I don't believe they would install the same copy of Leopard on every OpenMac Psystar sells.

there is, always has been. Windows Server 2000 supported 64gb of ram. Intel always had a Dual Xenon MOBO with that much capacity...

I have both 32 and 64 bit Linux (and Vista, I admit with shame) running on the same pc. Only the 64 bit Linux recognizes the full 4Gb RAM that I have.
