Interesting, but somehow sad, a form of death of classical acting.

For example, at the beginning of such "false sets" back in 82 filming Tron, Peter O'Toole was considered for the part of Dillinger/Sark, but when arriving at the set and seeing just a bunch of plain walls with tape marks, baffled he said "well, where's the tanks?"

Some might say "Peter's loss, and David Warner's gain." But, if we can't even get a typical city street corner without needing greenscreen, something is being lost.

@shansik не только. Например, там в одном видео вертолёт на заднем плане взлетает. Так эти вертолёты обходятся в дикие суммы. Запорят актёры пяток дублей и съёмочная команда останется без штанов. А с хромакеем всё гораздо проще, к тому-же не надо совмещать график актёров с лётной погодой и массовку и фоны можно снять отдельно. А потом и переснять, если сценаристам захочется.

И не надо переживать, что фильм - "ложь". Вы же не жалуетесь, что скульпторы используют арматуру, а не один напильник.

well,i think they can't afford the problems or shooting delays caused by unnecessary things like people keep bugging them on scene if they want to film outside. hence, the chroma key effect.

Yes The USA did land on the moon (I’m not denying that!) but they used film set footage on an unsuspecting American public by producing a slick pre-production instead of broadcasting distorted pictures that would not be visible in real-time. They purpose of this is Nixon & Kissinger had to sell the space program to the public especially with the amount of money spent.

@phumo Because it is expensive as hell to shoot on location. Shooting on location can also require a lot of coordination and planning. For a scene that takes place on, say, a public street, you'll need a location permit, stop and redirect traffic for several hours, and so on. It's significantly cheaper and much less of a hassle to just shoot on a studio sound stage and have the visual effects team take care of the rest.
