Why can't they like Atlantis and SG-1? Because you say so? There is no reason to come here and whine about 2 of the best series in the world, alot of people watched it in their youth and they still. So instead of trying to have people feel like you do about it, just enjoy universe instead of whining thankyou. Do less whine and people might respect you more.

Unfortunately at $1 Million per Episode or about $20 Million Dollars per season ... it was OK when the Canadian dollar was a good deal ... but now with the US Dollar also down .... Guess it just wasn't profitable enough.
That and syfy always cancels a show, and then plays their reruns for years .... much cheaper for them and besides ...does anyone think any of them actually care about the fans?
Why is every series cancelled when things start getting interesting? There were so much in Atlantis that havent been explored. The Vanir, the aliens from The Daedalus Variations, the advanced races that replicator Weir spoke of. And not to mention SGU which was cancelled at its best.
Couldnt Stargate just keep going so we can see what happened to Atlantis and Destiny's crew? Surely that's gonna make a lot of money.

I love both SG-1 and Atlantis! Not as keen on SGU, though it finally grew on my about the last 5 episodes or so. I watched it because it was Stargate, and I didn't want to miss if anyone from the other two shows guest starred.

Which was probably what was SGU's downfall in the end probably lost of lot of viewers from switching to such a personal, in depth focus on characters instead of the whole sci fi aspect of the show. For me the show was enjoyable but I understand when people say it was too different and too focused on people and not enough about the things that made Stargate fun.

It does not relate alot to the original shows and since that is a main thing needed it will die Ppl pref when it plays a role in the original universe since atlantis had alot to do with SG-1 in story line it survived barely SGU just didnt have what it takes it seems despite what the fans say .
well it was a spinoff, you know. it has a dam lot to relate to sg1, from technology to the everything, it is just in another setting. so far they've gone pretty good. now there are just 3 more episodes, and after that stargate is dead. they gonna make a stargate SG1 movie named Revolution and a SGA one named Revolution, but after than i bet on anything there is nothing serious. one a series gets canceled, its hard to get it back.
SGU was supposed to be a different kind of spin off, the producers said they developed it as a third separate entity. The first half of season wasn't that good, that's why the fans stopped watching afterwards which is really a shame, as the show IS getting better.
They canceled Atlantis before those advanced civilizations, hiding from the wraith were even discovered, and now they are gonna do this to Universe, which has even more potential than Atlantis. How sad. :(
@quizzisation God it got wonderful toward the end. I was pretty unhappy with the first season (it blew) but it had seriously turned itself around. I thought SGU2 was one of the best SG seasons period. Really unfortunate how that went.
Just listening to this makes me jump onto my sofa and watch ALL episodes again.
It's never boring. Always full of epic adventures troughout the galaxies, character depth, awesome effects, the whole story is awesome. INCREDIBLE SERIES!

honestly, the newer intros lack the grandeur of the original because of the driving baseline coming in as Atlantis comes into view and it just seems more awesome than the new one

Stargate universe is not cancelled its on a mid season break till the spring so where ever you got your information is highly in need of update. Even check the stargate.mgm site go to extras and scroll down it telks you when its back

SGU is different but that doesn't mean it sucks. I think people's prejudice about SGU is because of the cancellation of Atlantis, everyone misses the show and SGU is different from both previous series. Don't be mistaken I love SGA, but SGU isn't too bad either if you would kindly watch some season 2 episode like Awakening or Trial and Error.
Plus the music is still amazing.
And you can still hope for the SGA/ SGU crossover episode, we are going to see Rodney again!
i hope the overthink the thing with stargate universe and produce more seasons of stargate atlantis or sg1 (or another stargate series like sg1 or atlantis).
Hate to bring your hopes down but they stated that SG1 and SGA is at end and SGU is in even tho it actually fails but Atlantis still has the movie coming out.

@paperi1234 its likely that after Stargate U if it does well that they will come out with another all new Stargate series and also more movies for the other ones.
SGU was supposed to be the last hope of the franchise, with both SG1 an SGA movies delayed again and again, I'd say Stargate is dead after SGU. If there is going to be a new series we would have heard something by now. It's a shame considering SGU do have potential and is getting better, but was ended prematurely like what happened to SGA, ending the franchise with a premature cancellation.
When i was watching first part of SGA(year ago), my feelings was:"WTF, SG-1 is much better". But when i was watching last part of 5 season, my feelings are:"Omg, why is it so short? I want another 5 seasons! :,("
It would be cool if SGA and SG-1 made a few episodes where they were doing joint operations, Atlantis and the Staragte Command working togeather to kill the bad guys.
@Loliaz um hello? first a series following the main cast, then a series set on a space station, NOW a series set on a ship thats lost. Star Trek had three series like that in the same order. I wouldnt be surprised if they decided to do a stargate series in the past.
Atlantis is not a space station -___- you don't know what stargate is it seems SG-1 is about the gods of egypt and milky way i don't see how stargate copies star trek so don't start a MW2 vs Halo similar discussion because there are diehard fans for this show who knows im right
@Loliaz first of all, the only series that Halo is similar is warhammer 40,000. and I know that Atlantis isn't EXACTLY a space station, and I also know stargate takes A LOT of influence from mythology. I just mean the way they are going is copying star trek. I do know that Atlantis is actually a city. but does have some of the properties of a space station; though I am well aware it has a stargate within it.
@Loliaz I confess though I LOVE stargate, its a real shame they dont show much of it anymore on sky 1 ( am from the UK). I didnt mean to offend by the way.

well it was a spinoff, you know. it has a dam lot to relate to sg1, from technology to the everything, it is just in another setting. so far they've gone pretty good. now there are just 3 more episodes, and after that stargate is dead. they gonna make a stargate SG1 movie named Revolution and a SGA one named Revolution, but after than i bet on anything there is nothing serious. one a series gets canceled, its hard to get it back.

SGU was supposed to be a different kind of spin off, the producers said they developed it as a third separate entity. The first half of season wasn't that good, that's why the fans stopped watching afterwards which is really a shame, as the show IS getting better.
They canceled Atlantis before those advanced civilizations, hiding from the wraith were even discovered, and now they are gonna do this to Universe, which has even more potential than Atlantis. How sad. :(

@quizzisation God it got wonderful toward the end. I was pretty unhappy with the first season (it blew) but it had seriously turned itself around. I thought SGU2 was one of the best SG seasons period. Really unfortunate how that went.

Just listening to this makes me jump onto my sofa and watch ALL episodes again.
It's never boring. Always full of epic adventures troughout the galaxies, character depth, awesome effects, the whole story is awesome. INCREDIBLE SERIES!

honestly, the newer intros lack the grandeur of the original because of the driving baseline coming in as Atlantis comes into view and it just seems more awesome than the new one

Stargate universe is not cancelled its on a mid season break till the spring so where ever you got your information is highly in need of update. Even check the stargate.mgm site go to extras and scroll down it telks you when its back

They already made a mistake when they cancelled Stargate Atlantis prematurely, now they cancelled Stargate Universe when it's getting better.
Now with the cancellations of Everything possible, Stargate is dead.

I agree with you ever said that they should have made more atlantis episodes. i think Atlantis is freakin better then universe. They should have made it ten seasons for stargate: atlantis. both atlantis and sg-1 will remain the best shows ever!

It's different, but it certainly doesn't suck.
This series has the potential and what it needs is more time. It IS getting better episode by episode. Hopefully you guys won't make it being cancelled prematurely like Atlantis did.
Have you even watched season 2 yet? Episodes like resurgence and the greater good can't be boring.

I am just trying to make a point that SGU IS getting better, and hope that it doesn't die before season 5 due to the criticism from old SG fans and low viewing figures.
please, I beg everyone here don't abandon SGU yet, there is still hope for the (probably) last SG TV series.

SGU is different but that doesn't mean it sucks. I think people's prejudice about SGU is because of the cancellation of Atlantis, everyone misses the show and SGU is different from both previous series. Don't be mistaken I love SGA, but SGU isn't too bad either if you would kindly watch some season 2 episode like Awakening or Trial and Error.
Plus the music is still amazing.
And you can still hope for the SGA/ SGU crossover episode, we are going to see Rodney again!

SGU was supposed to be the last hope of the franchise, with both SG1 an SGA movies delayed again and again, I'd say Stargate is dead after SGU. If there is going to be a new series we would have heard something by now. It's a shame considering SGU do have potential and is getting better, but was ended prematurely like what happened to SGA, ending the franchise with a premature cancellation.

@Loliaz um hello? first a series following the main cast, then a series set on a space station, NOW a series set on a ship thats lost. Star Trek had three series like that in the same order. I wouldnt be surprised if they decided to do a stargate series in the past.

@Loliaz first of all, the only series that Halo is similar is warhammer 40,000. and I know that Atlantis isn't EXACTLY a space station, and I also know stargate takes A LOT of influence from mythology. I just mean the way they are going is copying star trek. I do know that Atlantis is actually a city. but does have some of the properties of a space station; though I am well aware it has a stargate within it.

The only thing is that atlantis felt like their cast needed to die like Dr Weir, if some1 needed to go Dr weir was the last one to go, better to let jason momas(or something like that) out of the show.'
sg1 is cool to but this is more advanced and you learn more about the ancients. more battle to.
