  • Oh ok lol. sorry about that.

  • This WAS the original video. Was on MTV all the time. I remembered it and searched for it here.

  • @shellyp231 Oh I know it is, I just didn't want to get all in that other guy's face just because he was a bit wrong.

  • Sorry about the double post! The first 4 times I tried, I got an error message saying it didn't go through.

  • My dad was a Marine on Iwo Jima and experienced things no person should have to. He never talked about it until near the end of his life, and his experience led him to the conclusion that, while sometimes we must go to war, it is not something we were drafted to do. This song came out when he died, and it holds great meaning to me. Both the music and video are haunting, and to this day I cannot listed unmoved.

  • soldierblue72: No one

  • Great uncle fought dead in France;

    Daddy flew in Boeing cans;

    Uncle walked the Normandy shore;

    Sent their sons to the jungle war;

    Grandsons hold the desert sand;

    Who's next to join the brothers' band?

  • fcking great song and video

  • nagyon szeretem...

    Killing some nice guy. neverwhere, neveknow...

    sucks.

  • WHAT A GROUP!!!!!!

  • you've missed the lyrics:

    it's not i've watched all your suffering

    it's i've whitnessed your suffering.

    :D

  • Oh, yeah.

    I knew the correct lyrics but just copied them from a website for convenience. Never again :D

  • SUBLIME

  • it's a good song!!!!

  • Although the song is the same, there was a version last year which showed scenes of war - a very powerful video, in full colour, showing the futility of war.

    Children, bloodied limbs, it was a powerful instrument to watch. It doesn't appear to be available now - and I wonder why. It was hard-hitting and real - maybe too real for some?

    Whatever, the words transcend time and eras.

  • No, sorry, just my memory. I've been searching that video all over Internet but never managed to find it.

    By the way, have you any hint as to where I could find a list of all the videos produced between 1984 and 1990?

  • You're right: scenes of a 'scrap tank yard' appearedin it. I can't find it either.

  • I clearly remember the original video. It was a simple colour documentary showing daily life scenes from Israel.

  • So this is not the original video?

    Do you have any other sources than your memory? =)

    Maybe a link to the video?

  • This is definitely the original video. Not saying there was never another video like the one you describe, but I was a big Dire Straits fan and this was the one in heavy rotation on MTV when the album came out in 1985.
