  • @comingforya1 More than you, obviously. Do a little research. I'm not trying to be an ass, just giving advice. People who don't know better might think this is how to use kettlebells and won't get results or may get themself hurt.

  • You shouldn't post videos if you have no idea about propper form.

  • Done wrong, just for the fact they didn't show the correct form, I'd have a hard time believing all their other videos.

  • Why did this guy not mention anything about the KEY to kettlebell swing, the hip snap? This girl is LIFTING the kbell, which is wrong. Destroys the whole point of the swing. With a real kbell swing, newbies cannot do 15 swings--maybe 5. It's a full-body move. Snatches you don't even begin until you've done quite a bit of work with kbells, and that is the WORST clean EVER. Wrong, wrong, wrong!

  • Anyone with hypermobile joints (loose ligaments) is more likely to injure themselves if they follow this instructions. She's hyperextending her knees and her wrists are not locked when flipping the weights. Poor form indeed. Not a good idea to do upper body weight training in abduction (away from the body) if you have unstable joints. Elastic bands are more appropriate.

  • Very Poor Form.... shame on the trainer for not correcting this. Learn either Hard or GS style then learn to teach and do then correctly before you hurt someone. Just because you are a fitness coach or personal trainer does not make you a kettlebell instructor.

  • sorry...real sorry,but absolutely ridiculous! im a certified trainer,and strength machine design engineer,....and watching that video made me scratch my head; been training for 25+ years- where you get AB work in that movement is beyond me!..yes,there may be ab stabilizing going (its a major stabilizer group),but NOT much of any dynamic contr.

    Finally...."getting the heart pumping,to burn fat"..one of THE most horribly abused lines in fitness; circuit style weight training is the way!

  • To any newbies if you snatch as fast as you can the way this guy is saying you're likely to injure your wrist and more. The snatch isn't a move to just jump into for beginners.

  • With the swing, it's the force of your hip snap that moves the kettlebell, not your arms. You're doing that wrong.

  • i really wish people would stop posting instructional videos on how to do kettlebells completely wrong. there are a lot of great videos that teach you proper technique out there, this is not one of them.

  • You should not start practicing the snatch until your shoulders get strong enough. Go to a beginners seminar, they'll teach you how to do the swing properly. Do not follow video instructions. You can get strong fast by doing nothing other than swings too. Keep it simple.

    You're 100% right it is just a complete mess, swings should be level to your eyes, and his version of the snatch is more likely to damage her wrists and shoulders.

    This guys advice will just hurt you.....

  • Poor form in all 3 exercises. You will get hurt if you follow the video. Please train with an RKC trainer before practicing at home. In the swing the kettlebell is swinging too high & not in the proper position while descending. In the snatch the hand should be opening while you are punching back bringing the kettlebell up to relieve stress on your wrists & to prevent it from banging against your arm. In the clean the form is poor in getting it into position and shoulder is not in it's socket.

  • I also wear Alex Chiu's Immortality Rings to help me lose weight. And it's quite effective. I lost 3 or 4 lbs each week with the rings.

  • Simple advertising. You could use dumbells though the mechanics will be a bit different as far as positioning. The KB's are ergonomically correct for most of the more extreme excercises posted on YT. Dumbells may end up removing your knee cap whereas you are less-likely too with KB's. IMO.

    Not necessarily true. The body only begins to burn fat after the aeriobic energy phase of the workout has been active for approximately over 20 minutes. So yes, if you have the stamina to do that weight exercise for 20+ minutes...fat burn begins.

    NOTE: Increased muscle mass = Increased metabolic rate :)

  • No Kettlebell can replace the good old dumbells, no matter what... still these can be used by older people or just those who are bored to death and need to try something new, but they are no real substitutes for barbells and dumbells.

  • You typically want to breathe out when you move a specific weight, so when you lift and row or whatever you need to exhale, when you pause and let the weight go back to its starting position you breathe in. This will allow for optimal oxygen supply to your muscles, and will minimize frantic pulse. Good luck.

  • most american are fat out of shape because they lack knowlege in proper diet and training. typical american life style is laid back and lack in focus and determination. it's sad to see most american women become overweight after age 25. this is the reason why I only date girls that come from other countries.

  • If you have a gym membership you don't have to buy any equipment, except maybe a mat. Of course, then you're paying about $30 a month.

  • People use their anterior delts too much on these I've found. Driving your hips brings up the KB not your delts.

  • Another waste of money that the INDUSTRY is trying to get out of us. Haven't we paid enough for the ball, dumbbells, WII Fit, mats, dvds, classes, gym memberships, personal trainers, other gadgets along with constantly having to purchase new, healthy, expensive foods and gas? Also, you can just use heavy dumbbells (that you already have at home) with them facing down to the do the same exercises.

  • Hmm I wasn't aware that we were required to buy the equipment they are using in the video if we watch their videos. Its mainly to inform us of how to use different equipment and preform different exercises. To me, fitness is a hobby, and any hobby requires some investment of money. Personally, a $30 per month investment for a gym membership that allows me to be healthy and reach my genetic potential is the best investment I can make.

  • Well said and thanks! You are exactly right. There are so many different pieces of equipment available at most people's gyms, we love showing fun new ways to use them without the price of a personal trainer.

  • I don't think I ever stated that those things aren't good investments. I'm just saying with prices getting so high these days, the last thing we need is to be presented by another "gimmick" or another piece of equipment to use when we most likely have dumbbells or other things we could use in its place w/o spending more money.

  • No You can't. Whenever I hear someone say that, they have never done an actual kettlebell work out. By the way, don't do your swings like that.

  • That comment was misplaced. It was meant as a response to someone stating that you can do the same thing with a dumbbell. You can't. To elaborate on the swing, it is a hinging, deadlift style motion as opposed to a squat as she is doing. Doing it as a squat is going to fire up your mid-back in a bad way. this movement should strengthen the posterior chain, no injure it.
