@matthew2496 wtf??? "if ur muslim please die"?? what are u saying?? muslims are awesome people..i know many muslims that are nice..and i love their food as well...so why are u judging muslims?? i agree with @matthew2496, there are many bad ppl in this world including americans as well! so why would u even disrespect an entire group of ppl like that?? are u mad? do u chose to be an arab?? is it wrong to be muslim?? wow u need to learn some history before u say idiotic things like that!
Part of going to war is leaving those you love behind for an uncertain length of time. I used to hate Enemy at the Gates and Pearl Harbor for the romance, but as cheesily overdone as it can get, it's still a decent take on it. BUT, theres also nothin' like I good straight up war movie like Black Hawk Down, I agree.
There is a worldwide powershift happening now and the US is involved in it,when you are already at the top there is only one way you can go.What the world needs is the good old US from 1900 -1950`s.The world will be a lonely and dark place without you.
This really hits home for me since over in the middle east my uncle was killed by a child who was holding a grenade and asked him for medical care. I hope while we are in the middle east we fuck up as many of those mother fuckers as possible.
Tokyo, Berlin, Rome had 20 million soldiers. They conquered continents. The "terrorists", that is Al Qaida et al, have a couple thousand at most, and maybe hundreds who can pull of attacks. It's all bullshit.
@SangsungMeansToCome But what is their psychological impact, how many innocent civillians can they blow up with their twisted faith and suicide bombers, and perhaps worst of all how many have we already let into our great nations through mass immigration and political corectness. Dont be a fool, they may not nave massive armies but they can still bring us to our knees.
Ok. It is hard to say anything against that, because of its sheer idiocy. I don't think you would understand any counterargument. "20 million" has 7 zeros, "hundreds" has 2? Maybe you get that? 7-2=5?
@SangsungMeansToCome Don't treat me like an idiot. My argument is that the modern world is very different, The axis didnt have the capability to invade America and the US was a powerhouse. In the modern world America is weakened but not defeated of course, an act of terrorism can have just as much psychological impact on a nation as all of Hitlers army. The first ever peacetime attact on american soil was by AlQaida. Not even Russia dared do that.
@timewarlord OK hold on the axis did have the capability to invade America for one. If the US did not help Britain out in WW2 Hitler would have won, if the US did not go to war with Japan, Hitler and Japan would have been world powers and teamed up on us on both fronts western and eastern. Then it would have of came down to HItler and Hirohito the Emperor of Japan in a bloody war so either way it would have been communism or dictator rule.
@ZackAssassin The Axis had very limited capability to invade a well defended, well organized nation, an excellent example of this is the UK, if you think the yanks were the total saviors of the Brits you are foolishly incorrect, that is an American myth. Im not diminishing the pivotal role the US played in the war but the Brits were an excellent fighting force. look up the Battle of Britain the Luftwaffe threw all they had at the British Isles and failed to dominate the RAF or prep an invasion.
@ZackAssassin Futhermore, Feared Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto said “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass.” The Japanese army consisted of highly trained veteran commandos, not vast numbers, their strengths were their air and sea superiority, and the conviction of their social caste system and conviction to their Emperors will.
@ZackAssassin The Japs couldn't even invade Australia and our small but legendary military was virtually all deployed overseas, the concept was that they could invade a major city but not the whole nation due to their small military presence. The same could be said of the US in a proposed invasion by the Japs the concept being even less likely because of Americas large population and liberal gun laws. Even without the US military an armed guerrilla force of civilians could have defended the USA
@ZackAssassin As for Hitler his army's reach was limited and only effective against disorganized nations, his blitzkrieg style of warfare wouldn't have gotten him very far on US soil as the nation is too large and too well armed. Not to mention the German navy was poor at troop transportation and better equipped for submarine and dreadnought combat. If the krauts ever had set foot on US soil they would have met fierce well armed local resistance, something they were unaccustomed to.
@Asperger0815 Russia had a vast yet totally inexperienced and unorganized military. Stalin almost had a total revolution on his hands from starving rural communities who were treated very unfairly under the communist regime. Russia is an incredibly large country NAZI troops could only hold towns and significant strategic locations. German control of invaded Russian territory was often symbolic only.
Although a bloody conflict NAZI success was due to disorganization and rebellion within the Russian military renowned for the tactic of killing deserters and aiming fire arms at advancing troops to prevent desertion and retreat. When Stalin and his generals finally regained control of the situation and reorganized the military the Red Army pushed the Germans back and made blitzkrieg obsolete. Another critical factor was Nazi unpreparedness for the extreme cold of a Russian winter
Of course were the advancing german troops unprepared for russian winter - the original bythoughts of Unternehmen Barbarossa was to feed the whole Wehrmacht from Russia. In 1941. The fact, that theis whole operation started in June of said year showed how much the Wehrmacht or Hitler anticipated a prolonged war against russia.
And by the way - you overestimate my grandfathers army... success was likely but surely not due. ;-)
@Asperger0815 Russia? haha thats why they suffered the most casualties out of anyone in WWII. The Nazi's were kicking their ass and if it weren't for the harsh russian winter they would have taken Moscow with little problem
@SlingBlade79 Genghis Kahn would disagree for one. Russia has been invaded before and defeated. The Russian winter ended up defeating Napoleon as well as the Nazi's in WWII, not the Russian armies.
@vladradforpres5 if it wasnt for russia the world would be under nazi rule... remember ww1?? russia made the germans fight a 2 front war..if the russians were not invovled in the war then germany would of taken over all of western europe and the middle east (from the ottoman empire-present day turkey)..russia helped england france and america..heck if america didnt join the war then all of europe would of beome communists! russia advanced all the way the berlin..and yes the winter did help them
Guys, stop the service branch biased. Sure the Navy doesn't shoot guns, but who else is going to run the ships? Who's going to command and run the ships that bring air support via aircraft carriers, and bombardment and tactical bombing? Each branch is needed just as much as the others.
hey dumbass theres more army infantry men than marines. and in any case all that matters is that we both fight for the greatest country in the world. AMERICA!!

@ZYCOLOCCS Honestly, they're all fighting for our freedom, so I respect them all equaly. Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy, Cost Guard or National Guard, the all have my respect, because without them, we would'nt be here now.
It would have been great if Bush had given a speech half as good as the Imfamy speech and then launched an attack straight at Bin Laden which ended in his death of capture. Instead we are stuck nation building 8 years later with a side war that never should have been...I just hope the extra resources we get from pulling out of Iraq can finally be used to bring Osama to justice.

Romance ruined the film to hell! The action scenes were awesome, but once again love ruins yet another war film.
The film symbolised true American patriotism when it wasn't showing us love.
