And yes you can see military and "stunt" choppers flying upside down for VERY short periods of time ( a few seconds) but to fly a chopper upside down for any length of time would require a major re-design of the engine and of key structural areas, mostly the rotor hub.

That's why most stunt choppers have fixed pitch rotors, it means a less mechanically complicated and sturdier rotor hub. less chance of things going wrong.
