  • I loved watching this on mtv, when it came out. There was still a lot of un-pop like bands then and it was an exciting time.

  • This is my favorite music video

  • çok güzel !

  • Love this song, but then I saw Elvin Bishop on the side :)

  • I want my MTV...

  • Justin Bieber should do a cover of this song....

  • @vadennotbaden obvious troll is obvious 0/10

  • @wilifredo23

No, I'm not a troll. Just a bored egg-head doing an experiment.

  • @vadennotbaden don't matter what your doing or what your intentions were, mentioning his name to incite a negative is trolling and many people would rather kick your sorry ass than have you intentionally try to piss people off.

  • @MrMogwaiMan

Okay, well then I'll just knock it off and enjoy the song...

  • @vadennotbaden thank you

  • @wilifredo23

I also think Barry Manilow would do a nice cover of this song ;-)

  • @vadennotbaden I certainly hope he doesnt

  • @THECARS7879

It was meant as a joke, but I'm not making those comments anymore. Everyone thought I was a troll, so I thought I better knock it off....

  • Will it happen or did it already(Al:Ready and Al:Parabo?)on U.S.S. GRIT or more precisely the U.S.S. Grit?

  • @epictimmy12345 krijg kanker

  • My God, I still love those nazi girl dancers, 1.2.3. high kick! "You vill giff us ze information" high kick!

  • I miss Rhino records :-p

  • @Thelonesniper - The song was inspired by the classic TV series "The Twilight Zone", as was the musical arrangement, especially the bass line and the story is about a spy/assassin who has apparently gone rogue. At least that's what it seems to me.

  • Now that is my idea of good music. whitch is one of the many reason why i love the 80's

  • I meant love not love

  • I have no Idea what the hell thus song is about but I live it. Anyone have any info on the background of this song?

  • Ahh yes, when videos told a story... I miss those days...

  • I was wondering who sang this song. Cooooooooooo

  • Was it just me or did it look like the cover of HOMEFRONT at 4:20?

    Did anyone else notice that?

  • i think its that the song taps on blues funk disco and the video with those sexy women man few videos in that great mtv age standout like this .Golden Earing's greatest achievement TOAST!

  • I dont know why but I can listen to this song a million times and not get tired of it WOOO!

  • @eujnfnnasdni me too

  • this song kicks ass.

  • i love dutch secret service women

  • best part is He knows damn well he has been cheated

  • Cool 80's memory :)

  • Sounds like Tommy Lee Jones at the beginning.

  • 144 ppl are slugs haha!! get it!

  • This video sort of reminds me of Luis Bunuel's classic movie Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie, and that's a compliment.

  • I was 20 it rocked then and still kicks ASS!!

  • Driving with this music = possible speeding tickets!

  • Just remembered this song while talking about twilight zone. Golden Earring huh? Never would have guessed that. Great song. Seems like something Pink Floyd would write, which is my favorite band. Gonna look for my by these guys.

  • I use to jammm to this in 1st grade, 1982!!!!! Badddddd epicccccc song!!!!!

  • 143 dislikes?! Who are these people?!?!?!

  • great klassik tune...!!!!

  • great song, hell! epic song! But, the video FAILS!

  • 143 are obviously Duran Duran fans :(

No great music in the 80's? If you were into the charts, then no, if you knew where to look had an open mind, and let your ears listen, then there was some awesome music out there in the 80's, this is just one of them :)

  • Love me some Rock.

  • Den HAAG. = Holland>3>3

  • one of best songs to come out of the 80s..i was 14 when this came out...a true 80s gem

  • i'm 15 years old and wanna say one thing:

i'm sorry for what my generation has done with the music.

    that was all

  • @TheArjan10 we are growing up in the wrong greneration

  • @TheArjan10 no offence dude but your only 15 your generation hasn't done anything with music yet. You still have a chance to make something from it!!!!

  • @TheArjan10 Thank you, but your apologies can't take back all the crappy music of the last 20 years.

  • @TheArjan10 There's nothing wrong with the new music... JOIN THE 21TH CENTURY MAN!!! :P

  • @TheNiko4545 21TH????

  • @TheArjan10 me 2 man im 12

  • @TheArjan10 Young man, you are welcomed into the fold of the children of the 1970's and 1980's any day!

  • @TheArjan10 im 18 and im not sorry i love all types of music

  • @TheArjan10 I'm in my 20s and I recognize when somebody is 15 because they saw a funny YouTube comment being shared on an image board site and thought, 'Hey, I can be that glorious top comment, just like that guy...YEAH! I WILL BE KING OF THE WORLD!!'... But yeah, you fuckers ruined music.

  • @TheArjan10 and as a guy that grew up in the 80's I want to say sorry for Poison, Def Leppard, Madonna, Ratt, Bon Jovi, New Kids on the Block, Cinderella, Whitesnake, Debbie Gibson, Warrant, Tiffany, Skid Row, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, The Pointer Sisters, Salt N Pepa, Janet Jackson and all the other endless shitty corporate music that came out of the 80's.

It's not your fault. The 80's saw the return of Payola, and it was all downhill from there.

  • @jwallbanger 80s music was the best

  • @acyfish123 there was some good rock in the early 80's and good new wave, ska and punk in the later 80's, but that hair band shit was terrible. and the bubble gum pop was stupid lowbrow puke.

in the 80's i mostly hated that corporate radio garbage. My favorite bands were The Misfits, The Dead Milkmen, Depeche Mode, The Ramones, The Cure, New Order, Metallica (80's only,) The Housemartins, The Police, The Damned, Big Black, The Exploited, The Dead Kennedys, stuff like that.

  • @jwallbanger you didn't get shit, and Im not argunig with you anymore cause it don't pay.

  • @THECARS7879 You WERE arguing, even though "it don't pay." But as soon as I got you liking teenie mall pop you quit. I can see the red on your face from here.

  • @jwallbanger wait ?Motley Crue ? Whitesnake? Skid Row? Ratt? Aerosmith? yeah, what do you listen to then Justin Bieber? the 80s were one of the best decades ever so sorry for you

  • @THECARS7879 Those bands were corporate horseshit then and they're corporate horseshit now. In the 80's I liked good music, which unfortunately was very rarely played on the radio and never on MTV. Justin Bieber is just another corporate created teen idol.

In the 70's it was David Cassidy. The 80's had Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. The 90's had Hansen and Backstreet Boys. They pump out corporate shit for every demographic to drool on.

You like hair metal? Boys dressed like girls?

  • @jwallbanger yeah i like hair metal because it was happier music then grunge, It had glitz and glamoure. Motley Crue has been around for 31 years and counting , heading to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. They re better then anything out there today . I like Debbie Gibson too. And just because the media is behind them. They arent bad.

  • @THECARS7879 Are you fucking kidding me? I mean, ARE you fucking KIDDING me? Don't lecture me about taste in music when you said without a hint of irony that you like Debbie Gibson's teen idol bubblegum kiddie mall crap. No one but teenage girls and retards ever bought her terrible, terrible albums. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? NOT EVEN GAY GUYS LIKE DEBBIE GIBSON!!! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??????

  • @jwallbanger whatever troll

  • @THECARS7879 Uh oh, looks like I got ya. It's obvious by the way you seem to have nothing left but name calling. I can't believe you like Debbie fucking Gibson. That just kills me.

  • @THECARS7879 excuse me, I meant to say only PRE-TEEN girls bought debbie gibson. Once they became teenage girls they moved on to Warrant, and Poison, your other favorite kind of 80's garbage. Are you female? I certainly hope you are. You don't sound female but that's your only excuse for liking music marketed to tween and teen girls.

  • The very first video I ever saw on MTV. Classic!

  • OOOOHHHHHHH ME SO HORNY!

  • One of my favorite 80s songs!

  • My fisrt concert I have had ever witnessed was a show from the golden earing it was in february 1984, now I have no doubt that 1984 was the best year of rockn roll heavy metal etc.

But where has al those good times gone?

  • That bass line kicks ass though.......

  • @superbuds0714 Yes, yes it does my fine sir.

  • @superbuds0714 Its art is in its simplicity...as a bassist myself I can tell you, the bass line on this one is DECEPTIVELY Simple! Its a very tonic line, and sticks to the guitars, and he resists the temptation of flourishing and embelishing the chord structure laid out by the guitar. His name is Rinus Gerritsen , and is one of the founders of Golden Earring. The drummer kicks ass as well.

  • the original 1911 was made by colt. several arms manufacturers make copies of it now, springfield being one on them. and they all sound tinny like the original colt. classic, trademark sound.

  • Great song!

    I love 80's music

  • 2:49 sounds like black betty

  • there is a god!

  • Best dutch band ever, and will never change

  • damn censorship....

  • This song will always make me think of late nights listening to Coast to Coast AM....

  • life is a madhouse

  • @mrUnclejackass No it isn't! But, if you listen to the shit you are

told is truth, and isn't, then you know the 'madhouse'.

  • @fntime dude don't be a bitch i was just trying to be funny!

  • At a gun range if it's quiet it's not live. When someone walks in with a target one of the men yells out "we are going live" you here someone loading the gun cocks and a very short explosion depending on what caliber and weapon type the .22 range pistol is the quietest gun while the .44 magnum is a big boomer.

  • Another fantastic memory relived hahaha god is great

  • Sounds Great with gunfire. Like the glock17. Good tune to go live with.

  • @FreeStyleJtagXbox360 I prefer Sprigfield 1911 .45ACP. Nothing else like the sound of a .45!!!!

  • @tscott21970 ok the 1911 is not made by springfield! its made by COLT.

  • @66650cal666 OK SON let me school ya a bit the 1911a1 desinded by John Browning, originaly made by Colt was made by many manufacturers durring wwII because Colt simoly could not keep up, among these were GE, Singer sewwing macine co. Thompson firearms AND Springfield Armorry, Springfield still makes them today and I own 5 of them all TOP NOTCH weapons along with several Colts, also good weapons. here endeth the lesson.

  • Those 143 people have never experienced the Twilight Zone.

  • great tune love the way it starts up!

  • Lol!!..funny!!

  • Brilliant

  • This shit is so tough.great bass line. Amazing video.

  • The best video ever made

  • this song is awsome, im 28 and lovin the oldies what can i say it the way i was brought up

  • One of the best videos ever filmed, I mean it.

  • I love being 18 and liking this music :3 im glad i dont like this new crap it sucks :o CLASSICS FTW!

  • I remember seeing this video on Beavis and Butthead. When the dancing girls come out (at 2:48) Butthead goes: "Huh Huh.... Interrogation is COOL."

  • 3:35 - shhh don't look into the camera sweetie.

  • Three chicks choreography perfectly matches the beat.

  • Never seen Terra Nova, but wouldn't it be Kewl to take a modern air wing or carrier group back to WW2 & Straighten 'Em Out in about 45 minutes or so ? H3ll, lets do the same thing back to 1865 & let the SOUTH win this time....Mbwahahahaha...

  • 80s GANGSTA: gots that gat, capped his ass! LOL

  • I saw your channel name and had to watch the video, as I ought to be sleeping right now. Great music.

  • Help, I'm steppin' into the Twilight Zone

    Place is a madhouse

    Feels like being cloned

    My beacons been moved

    Under moon and star

Where am I to go Now that I've gone too far

Theme to the GOP debates. :-)

  • These guys only had two hit songs. This and Radar Love. But, damn were they both amazing!!!

  • @StevenTyler324 Well, they had TONS of hits in their home country. Check out "Candy's Going Bad", "When The Lady Smiles", and "Quiet Eyes" for just a few examples of songs that should have gotten airplay over here but are totally unknown, which is ridiculous.

  • I am 37 and it reminded me of the days of being a kid and hooked on M TV,back when M TV really played music videos.

  • @MultiPelias amen

  • After all these years I still say this is one of the most bad ass songs from the eighties.

  • Fucking love Golden Earring.

  • Wish music today was as good as this!

  • I'm 54, this song has been KICKASS for 30 years now...It'll be KICKASS for at least 30 more !

  • @chg657 a year younger but will catch up on you !! rock on...

  • One of the best music videos.

  • Fucking brilliant video. To think THIS used to be pop music.

    What the hell happened?

  • this song pops into my head at least once a week

  • Love this song!Radar love is great too.

  • I always thought this was a rolling stones song

  • AWESOME video! One of the best of the golden years of MTV!

Just one quibble: if you're going to post the lyrics, how can you NOT post the badass spoken lines at the beginning?

"Somewhere in a lonely hotel room there's a guy starting to realize that Eternal Fate has turned it's back on him. It's 2am."

  • I slipped into the twilight zone along time ago

  • Bad ass song for this 1st MTV generation girl!

  • when i first listened to this i thought it was pink floyd thats how bad ass they are

  • Dit liedje geeft me elke keer weer kippenvel. :)

  • I was the 3rd guy in the trenchcoat! When the bullet hits the bone....

  • This song kicks ass.

  • Kid: Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaad! Wath is this?!

Father: That's what we like to call Dutch talent.

    Kid: Really? What's the secret?

Father: Weed, hash and a lot of liquor...

  • @bibelwalker I'm half Dutch, and I'd have to say that actually isn't very far from the truth.

  • @LordIncompetent I'm totally Dutch and I KNOW that is the truth... xD

  • @bibelwalker hahaha I'll have to ask my brother and law about that

  • My Band and i still jam this song in the clubs here in Vermont and Ny clubs

  • I love the psychadelic/cinematic verite ... of his final drug induced trip into the "twighlight zone" (his full-on theater performance with his adversaries to a packed house - in his mind).. as he is injected.. then dragged out to the wall for his step into the twilight zone.. very Roger Waters-esque ala The Wall... BRAVO

  • You jam this in a fast car with the top down and it's on baby! I have to be real careful with song on the road.

  • @6irondriver you and me both buddy

  • Darn the censor xD

  • Nice reached the 3.000.000! Cheerss

  • @MusicInsomnia Do you know what year this was a hit in USA?
