  • 1:58 It seems scary how fast the trees were flying by!! If I was the passenger I would probably crap myself real bad!! :D

  • great engineeringg

  • i just wish that guy would stop talking.

  • you know what, this is the first generation of r35, zr1 is a muscle car. you cant compare gtr with zr1. btw gtr is v6 and twin turbo and the zr1 is v8.

  • mean machine..

  • Nissan can build on from the R35....R36 will be an even better machine. Maybe there next machine will be lighter

  • No! It's a little bit more complicated than that.

  • sure... I suppose you're the engineer...

  • Don't hate!

  • Why hate? Rofl. Anyway, the bigger engine is not the only thing. The body design and flow also acts together for greater aerodynamics. Weight distribution too helps it around the corners. Speaking about corners, the GT-R's tyres are specially made. They have special ridges to prevent the tyre from popping off the car when cornering at high speeds. Oh,and the car is fitted with double parallel-fitted turbuchargers for extra boost. The rims are also designed for aerodynamics.

  • Hah,aerodynamics are static? You really don't know what you're talking about, huh? Compare a boxy shaped car with the GT-R. Both fitted with same settings and engines. Just different body styles. The GT-R will win because of aerodynamics. Another thing, call the GT-R a ricer or anything,it will still not change the fact that it beats world class supercars on the Nürburgring.

  • I'll take the GT-R,thank you. And uh,Nissan spent nearly 7 years developing this car,and Nissan had always aimed to be one of the fastest on the 'Ring,so don't give me bull on "Nissan is lucky".

  • Mustang?? No...GT-R is too great for it.

  • another that drove the car too huh...

  • its 3.8 liter v6 thats nearly the smallest there is in the super car lineup

  • @CalleUnion dud if you that was true the viper would be a good car its not tho its really heavy clean looking but heavy wit only 400hp thanks about it dont be stupid

  • @italo101692araujo The Viper is a disgusting looking vehicle. It has the engine of a lorry. The GT-R is a great car, however is not the performance yardstick. It has a bigger lazier engine than its predecesor and the assistance of boost well, defines its characteristics on the track: Cornering and acceleration at higher torque.

  • @CalleUnion ya thats true man but its a v6 thats why all the other cars had a straight 6 motor which is better and alot easier to tune

  • wow thats fast

  • I wish i was japenese and lived in japan just becuase of this car. i'm inlove with it!

  • me too!

  • sounds like the veyron a bit..

  • u shouldn't such thing to Nissan fans... lol

  • Nürburgring (Nordschleife) lap times. 7:25 Nissan GT-R V-Spec 7:29 Nissan GT-R 7:32 Porsche Carrera GT 7:32 Porsche 911 997 GT2 7:39 Porsche 997 GT3 7:40 Bugatti Veyron 16/4 7:40 Mercedes-Benz SLR 7:42 Ford GT 7:42 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 7:44 Pagani Zonda S 7:46 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera 7:46 Porsche 911 996 GT2 7:47 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano 7:47 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 E-gear
  • So much for not exceeding 4,000 RPM's or half throttle on break in...

  • It's actually better to red line it everytime when breaking in because if you don't after a while the engine's performance will not be as good as the engine that's hard broken in.. I read about it in a couple of auto sites. :)

  • Awesome videos!!

At Renault here in Brazil we make the same tests, except the cars aren't so fast and the track isn't so big...hehehe...

  • If the McLaren F1 was the 20th century's definition of a supercar, then surely the Bugatti Veyron along with the Nissan GTR35 is for the 21st century.

  • ...

  • And for the time being,DSG gearbox is used by many carmakers in the world. BMW uses it,not just Volkswagen. Seat uses it too. Engine layout is not the same as German supercars. The Porsche Carrera GT has a V10 engine. The SLR uses a V8 engine. Audi R8 has a V10 engine. The GT-R needs only a V6 engine that churns out 480hp,even this is not fixed as the engine is handbuilt. Some engines get at least 500 hp.

  • The R32 and R34 GT-Rs are remembered by the world as Godzilla. Now that their successor has arrived, the world once again will have to bow down to the GT-R. Europe has the Audi R8 and Porsche 911. America has their Z06 and SRT-10. So why can't the Japanese have one? The GT-R has redefined the term supercar. One of Nissan's values is affordability. The GT-R done that. Now tell me a supercar that is affordable, practical and powerful without having to compromise safety and comfort? Question yourself

  • yall love the GTR way to damn much.

  • No. I'm just defending the GT-R from constant buggery by some ignorant people, namely CalleUnion and importedtuner.

  • importedtuner: "The GT-R is the best car that Nissan have ever assembled. No doubt. But it still is from Japan...it will forever be remembered as a Datsun supercar"

Do others a favor and keep uploading 5th Gear videos while resisting to comment on the GT-R

The difference between the GT-R and an overprices European exotic supercar is the same as the difference between a true car in your garage and a one on the poster on your bedromm wall.

  • Oh I'm sorry,the R8 has a V8 engine. Still doesn't make a difference. The GT-R has a different engine layout.

  • @metring073

I love the Nissan GTR but are you comparing a Nissan (even as amazing as this) to a McLaren F1 or a Bugatti?

They may belong on the same 0-60 scale but not $ or prestige.

  • I'd also like to add.. That first point of view where the GT-R is accelerating is insane. You can tell it's going so fast in a short matter of time. Jaw-dropping indeed...

  • First to comment! xD

By the way, beautiful car. GT-R will always be my favorite #1 supercar! Go Nissan!
