I usually agree with your videos Bigone, however, on this I totally disagree. I don't think that voting for someone that actually represents my values is throwing my vote away. More Americans need to vote for someone and quit voting against someone. The fact is that we have a 1 party with 2 factions system. It is the work of the Democrats and Republicans that has gotten us where we are now. It certainly will not fix itself by us continuing to put the same people in office every cycle.
@ShawnThunderWallace, Voting for someone that won't win is certainly not going to help getting someone new into office. The same people keep getting re-elected, because so many like yourself, refuse to vote against them. All you are doing is wasting your vote, just as Biggy said. The same people get elected over and over, while you vote for the guys that will never win-so how is that going to change Washington?
You can't always trust that a Republican is a conservative or that a Democrat is a liberal-both parties have been inflitrated by Socialists. My point was that voting for an Independent may be the correct choice, but certainly not if they don't have a chance of winning. Often a third candidate is only running to steal votes from the true conservative. I believe that to be the case now in the MA special election. Kennedy is only running to steal votes from Scott Brown.
Scott Brown is correct as he states below, now is not the time for an Independent run as it could be just a ploy to assist the democrat's in winning the Massachusetts election and the name Kennedy doesn't fit well with me either, it concerns me he could be running under the name or how do we know he's not a recent democrat turned independent to throw off the votes.. don't take the chance, this vote is too important, we need a new direction now, not the corruption as of lately, is Al Capone back?
@wayneo169, Yes. Kennedy was not interested in being appointed to Ted Keddedy's seat last September, but only after Scott Brown appeared to be gaining in the polls, Kennedy threw his hat in the ring. Brown will vote against Obamacare, so there is even talk of delaying swearing him in, if he wins, until after the bill passes. Saul Alinsky learned his tactics from studing Capone and his enforcer Nitti in Chicago.
I wondered about Kennedy's sudden appearnace. I lived in MA for 40 year's like many I'm tired of it being known as the Welfare state & taxachusetts To think Teddy Kennedy our great leader & promoter of welfare programs, got away with driving whileunder, murder, leaving the scene & his security staff had to put him to bed after meetings as he was too drunk to walk. it's time we rid the country of this corruption, We would be doing 30 years in prision. We have enough welfare programs vote Repup
Sounds like the accusations against Beck might be true, if he's encouraging a split vote that way. And I'm very disappointed to hear that Ron Paul advised his followers to vote for independent candidates in the 2008 presidential race, when they could have cast an effective vote AGAINST Obama. ='[.]'=
I would hope that during these next 3 years tea party member's and real American's NOT politicians, get totally involved and build the independent party, force the Republican party to fold and join us as we take back our own country, this is not the America our fore Father's shed their blood for and this is not the FREE America we fight to protect. We need to stop pushing our values down other countries throats as our politic's to them is surely corrupt and who would honestly trust us ?? who ??
Right on. My own mother always says, "Well I didn't vote for him", and I respond "Yes, but, you didn't vote". A third party certainly could make great gains, but, it can't happen over night, and as you say, it certainly isn't going to happen on Election Day. It is really sad that you have to draw a picture for them. Great video 5*.

So what do you expect to gain by voting for someone that won't win?

I thought America only permitted a 2 party system, constitutionally speaking.

The Constitution does not say anything about political parties. You do not have to be a member of a political party to run for office.
