@kittenkoma This particular clip sounds like a hybrid of metal and rock, but more metal than rock.  Hence, anyone who is not familiar with Muse ends up classifying it as metal. It's irrelevant if the band is rock or metal. The fact is, many people classify this as metal with good grounds for doing so. Therefore, all the comments that "Muse isn't metal" are unnecessary.

@tangram108 I think you use too many catagories. Maybe Muse is heavy rock, or maybe Psych-rock, or maybe prog-heavy-rock. But I'm afraid after all of this; they still aren't metal, and even though you are entitled to you opinion, I am entitled to mine, and putting Muse on the same plinth as bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Iron Maiden (all of which are metal) doesn't seem right.

@kittenkoma I agree, Muse isn't metal. I wasn't arguing with that statement. Other users said things like, "the metal killed it." The 30 seconds of that particular Muse song could easily be mistaken as metal, which is what many people mistake it as. To me, it sounds like a hybrid (combination) of metal and rock, like 60% metal and 40% rock, so if I had to pick one, I would say metal. BUT, it's just for that 30 seconds of one song.

maybe could have used orchestral music from classic horror films instead. the rock music at the end makes it look like a bad 90's horror film/Scream rip-off, that whole genre.

try it with exorcist or maybe even Evil dead music, as long at you keep consistency in the music it will all seem to fit. start with metal-end with metal, start with classical-end with classical. you have a great jumping point with the beginning, just end it a bit more consistent.

I'm not sure how Muse qualifies as "heavy metal"... but I would agree that it's not a good fit and was out of place. Some songs off of that album might have been good but they're mostly very dramatic and too beautiful. If you wanted Muse, then one of the softer space-ier, piano driven songs would have been cool. Muse songs are generally used for action, "what if" type trailers/previews.. take for instance Children of Men and Spirit. Things to keep in mind next time you make a trailer!
