  • nice

  • could u take this on a little trip or somethingik

  • I fly a powered parachute,it's much safer than this ultra-lite.

  • @CBALLEN

Safer? Not. Look at the statistics. Lots of roll overs which result in spinal cord, neck injuries and even drownins in shallow sloughs. These chutes can collapse in a sec notice with nothing you can do about it except plunge to your death in desparation. At least an Ultralight trained pilot can pull out of thermals usually. Be careful making statements like that, it could cause someone to have a false sense of security where not exists.

  • It Looks Like Death.

  • do u half to have like flying licens???

  • @jzuz1195

    no

  • @jzuz1195 no u dont. thats y most people do it cuz its cheap, easy, fun, and u dont havt to have a licenes

  • Its got to be so cool to fly' I know I'd like to, Hey' would all of you like to see my new invention? its the most extreme rat trap ever.

  • And here's yet another lesson in flying for you, agent homey. Most of these models are of a tandem type design. The size and shape of the "wing" determines everything, which is the case with any wing of any type of fixed wing aircraft. Generally a larger area wing would be required for somebody taking up their 200 lb. buddy. Of course they probably have that matched with a larger Rotax engine. I, on the other hand, could fly something smaller, and faster, by myself. It all depends.

  • that is awesome but it would be vary scary if the wind screwed up the wing and you couldent ster thumbs up if im right

  • @spartinpizza123 You can still maneuver the plane if it's windy...

  • That was so cool would love to fly with that pilot

  • people have ball....damm

  • Every time I watch this I realize how rare the footage

is with me holding the camera, hanging on for dear life.

  • how much do they cost

  • I have never flown one but have seen them go as cheap as 2500 uk pounds on ebay

  • Can you fly one from milwaukee to chicago. . .??? ? ? I would love a better way some days.. The drive sucks

  • I'll get on FSX and do a test flight in real time and let you know how long it takes me from Milwaukee to Chicago.

  • @stratoleft Wow, are you serious? You can't use that as an example.

  • @agentfazexx Yeah, homey. I am serious about the trike, depending on the motor;/prop. Most of this, people like you have no clue, whether it's something in the real of a Rotax Jr. or getting up there with the Model 582/40. That's 580 cc's which I doubt. It also depends on the choice of prop to "match". Anyways, in regards to your uneducated remark, I'm averaging 40 m.p.h. Of course, regardless of the power, weather conditions [wind] , prevail.

  • @stratoleft Right, well have fun with your erhm...hang gliding, and touch n' goes. I'm more into going 475 knots.

    Enjoy doing 35 knots.

  • @agentfazexx This is somewhat more affordable to the average joe.

An ultralight is about a fifth or less of what a very small plane will cost where I live.

And I'm not even talking the difference in maintenance and the airstrip.

  • I love the pilot's perspective clips.

  • can you glide down safely with one of these planes?

  • depends on the modle but yes mostly

  • Its not to go somewhere, its flying for the fun of flying !! I also fly these and use a parachute all the time ;) They can go over 10,000 feet, but its cold up there, and not really fun to go high.

  • FLying is a bit weird. I still think the best way of flying is commercial air travel

  • These people are flying 4 fun, not 4 travel. If they went a long way then they might fly on a jet.

  • The best way to fly is flying yourself

  • how high up can it go 5k 10k feets ? i really want one but if u would get one i would have parachute all the time lol

  • yeah, i really want to know how high these things can go. And what happens if yo go too high?

  • well i dont know an exact ceiling for an ultralight but if it gets too high the engine will quit because of lack of oxygen.

  • The engine will not quit, you just get less and less power as you go higher, and at some point you just dont have enough power to climb anymore. These planes will go well over 10,000 feet.

  • do u need faa clearence to launch one?

  • OK im interested in one of these. But this is when i move to illinois. BUT im scared of hights, but for some reason im not scared of flying in an airplane. How does it feel to fly in these things. Do you get those drops, that you feel your stomach is going to come out? ow high do these things go? 5,000 feet?, OMG, i want one but im scared, LMAO!1

  • What do we need to pilot one of these? I mean, its needed a licence or something? How much does one thing of these costs?

  • No, if the aircraft's max speed is 90mph it is considered an ultralite and requires no license. One of those costs around 5k.

  • you'll need a pilots license, at least a recreational. you wont need to train in one before you fly, but it is recommended. hope this helps!

  • And if is needed a license, where could I get one? Aeronautics? Thanks for the help guys!

  • there should be pilot schools at your local airport.

  • very cool!!! i did'nt know you could get so much air on an ultralight! but i only just started to become interested in them...

  • fun!

  • Roman Montano is Sky King.

What do you mean he will never reach the sky?

    Please watch again.

  • The footage is shaky because I was holding the camera with both hands strapped to a make shift seat behind the pilot, John Skarimbas. I was filming Roman Montano in his ultralight plane he put together from a kit.

    What a ride it was!
